There is an app you can get for iPhone, probably android too, called The Photographers Ephemeris. This lets you put a pin on a map anywhere on Earth, for any time, day or night, that lets you see how the light will fall on the land. Not as exciting as seeing it in person, but could help you discover where those shadows fall. Would maybe help you collect beta for your trips as well pal

I live in the four corners area and even have approx. 3 acres of Anasazi ruins on my property. I have visited many ancient ruin locations and have the following questions: 1. I have visited many "granaries" but have never seen a corn cob, or vegetable matter in one of these locations. I have never found pots, baskets nor other storage vessels either. I question whether these unique "granaries" were actually for storing food. Could they be like a religious location like a sipapu or kiva? I have found lots of corn cobs in living locations however I am at a loss as to why I have never seen anything which would indicate these were granaries. 2. Has anyone ever thought about using AI to decipher petroglyphs. I have seen similar petroglyphs in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. AI has been used to decipher ancient languages and with the tremendous number of petroglyphs available to study, AI could definitely be helpful. Petroglyphs are similar to the Chinese language (writing) whereby an inscription has meaning, not just a letter in an alphabet. AI has the ability to determine meaning.

Can you post your videos on your website so KZbin doesn't ruin your content? I was up til 2am watching your videos last week it was so fasinating. Also, possibly there were giants in the land and that's why the indigenous people built there homes and graineries in the hight cliff rocks. I saw one pictograph with 6 toes like a giant. There are legends of giants and people found giant skeletons. And the giants were cannibals.

I'm in my 70s and Nations blooded, with plenty of, but never enough of, adventures into the desert in my youth and military days. But, wow, the petroglyphs are telling. You pointed out the obvious, must be the Mountain Goat on the left and a person on the right. There is also something suspended in the air over the two towers. You must get yourself positioned when the moon in its phase depicted in the petroglyph is suspended correctly. It would seem to me that this is the key to figuring out what it means. (I calculate afternoonish) I'd sure like to get there first hand and see it for myself. I know we're past the summer solstice at this writing, but I'm thinking maybe it's completely Lunar in nature. The moon's phases and the shape of the canyon may be the key.

so i know what these mean! i know exactly what they are trying to say! 2:11 see these three formations? so in the vide he took down there where two separate petroglyphs. there was one with three figures but none of them looked human and two were obviously the formations one even has a goat right next to it but it’s off to the right of its head and there was also a star and a tribal symbol. but there was also another petroglyph which was very similar but from a different angle like it was higher up staring straight across at them and the third figure was definitely a human…. well that gives it all away right there because it was telling him about the ledge above him, he climbed up there in that video but he didn’t even notice it from the ground until he was flying his drone back towards himself from the formations. because the petroglyph depicted a human and not just a figure it means that it represents YOU or the person reading it and it’s telling them to climb the ledge and look at the formation to get a clear view because they are significant. the other petroglyph doesn’t depict any humans so the figure in front represents a third rock formation 2:11 right there! the goat is off to the side to represent that it is from another angle. the star is an abstract arrow telling him where to go like it is in motion and not a permanent object so it has to be the path or road but it is in code so as to not be too obvious what it means and then the tribal symbol is to let the reader know that it’s their form of communication so if you’re that tribe then you know how to read it. from this point of view 2:11 up on the flat lands you see a valley and a mountain range curving off to the right exactly how the shooting star did on the petroglyph so that is the path out of there. that it what it means! at the base of it he sees a goat and a figure but the goat is on the left so if he went to the left side of it then that formation would be on the left so it is telling him to go that way…. i cannot for the life of me get this guys attention though i even commented a lot on the original video and he never saw it. if it’s not exactly human then it represents the surrounding landmarks. i’ve known for over a week already and i can’t get hold of him and he even went back to try to figure it out which is really disappointing. this must have been an ancient corridor and these are road signs but they didn’t want other tribes to follow them so it is all in code. but if you already know the code then it is very obvious what it means

@@skipperclinton1087 sorry i tried to get his attention on the last video and he never saw it and then i got the notification right when he uploaded this video today so i tried everything to get his attention because he even says in this video that he’s going back a third time so i made a comment and then i commented ten times on my own comment and liked all of my own comments to try to move my comment upwards in relevance so he would see it and some chode comments “moderators suck” and got 200 likes and within minutes my comment got pushed way down so i put it on his own comment which he pinned to the top there’s already 30 other comments in there so then i started going to all the top comments to ask people to like my comment so he would see it and then a couple hours later there’s already different top comments so one guy had a theory so i wrote a new comment and then i just copied and pasted it back to the top comments so hopefully some way he will see it because he is going to go back and he thinks it has something to do with the solace or something he’s completely missing the message. but yes i am commenting a lot on this post because i want him to see it but his last video i basically did the same thing and it got taken down and he even went back there and never saw my post which is really disappointing and i am pretty’s sure i’m onto something that he could further validate and it may lead to other discoveries. i suffer from salt deprivation right so if i go out in the heat i’m likely to have a stroke or a seizure or an aneurysm so o want to pass my idea onto someone if their already willing to do the footwork in order to find out. i think the whole canyon was a passage corridor and the shelter ruins were made for travelers and the petroglyphs are all road signs in code so that their tribe could pass through there safely and that there’s even an ancient road out of there with probably other ruins or things of interest.

I think it is sad that KZbin blocked that video as it shows what the ancient peoples had to do to climb it. I had watched it before they blocked it and I had known from your videos that you lead guided tours for a living so you are a professional climber and therefore know what you are doing, and so I never said to myself, "I think I will go climb those stairs." You also showed the difficulty and how careful you needed to be. You also do not give information as to the locations to protect the environment and ruins from stupid people. Therefore, they should not have blocked it.

While the summer solstice is an important solar marker, if you have time to go back during the autumnal equinox, you might find more interesting shadows in that canyon. Another possibility is trying to align dates of known comets passing overhead. We've created so much light pollution that we tend to forget that the ancients had a perfect view of the milky way.
@Elf_Hour5 ай бұрын
True, the Equinox would be a good time to double-back) But I must point out, the problem with the Equinox is that it is 'fuzzy'. Solstices are the same for everyone globally, regardless of location. What is currently called the 'Equinox' is a bit of an oversight; it is better referred to as the Fall or Spring 'Quarter'. The Equinox is much bigger than just one day; it is an amazing thing and actually takes about 50 days to sweep the Earth. By 'equinox' I mean when night and day are of equal length. When it actually occurs depends on location, Longitude and Latitude. Latitude determines which day it occurs while Longitude affects AM or PM. These variations make it 'fuzzy'. It would be cool to find when it occurs for this location in the canyon and see if that's the day the ancients observed, too)

@@Desert.Drifter If the art is thousands of years old just remember every 3,200 years the equinox increases by 1 day. If 7,000 years then start a day early, 8,000 to 10,000 years then start 2 days early, etc. However those ancients did not use the recent gregorian calendar system or equinoxes. Some calendars had 5 seasons that roughly works out to Early Spring, Late Spring, Summer, Season to plant "fall" for spring, Winter. While others used a 6 season calendar both the 5 and 6 season system is still used by some First Nations and a 6 season system is used by some Aboriginal Australians too.

Aloha! A kanaka maoli from Hawai’i here. Love your videos 👍🏽 as I was watching the last climbing video and this one, the the towers remind me of structures that our kūpuna built called pānānā. Basically they were walls or markers that tracked the movement of our celestial bodies ex. sun/stars. Literally with a center notched portion as well, just like the space between the towers. Heavily connected to the ancestral navigational knowledge my people have. I couldn’t help but think that maybe these serve the same purpose for the indigenous peoples that once lived there. Being able to sit at the climbing spot from your other video and looking eastward as a locational markers and time markers. The spot would offer a high enough vantage point to track the sunrise or star markers and like you said it’s basically exactly east. You should definitely try to catch a sunrise from sitting on top of the climbing wall again. The towers could represent the farthest points the sun travels when it hits the equinoxes. And maybe they’re carved out like the people and sheep to represent that respect they had for those animals. Amazing indigenous minds think alike. I am no expert in this field (trying to learn more about my people), but just thought I would share as a fellow lover of indigenous knowledge and culture. ✊🏽 cool videos!

They didn’t use names of roads or highway numbers, they would say turn left at the rock that looks like this and go straight until see a rock that looks like that and turn left. It was all about the rocks as being markers and directions being off of the rock in question.

The verticals lines on the rock remind me of some I saw in a small cave-alcove many years ago when I used to go out exploring. The lines in the cave I saw were like a calendar. The sun would hit the vertical line for a particular day. As the sun moved a little each day, the sun would touch a different line. There was a circle above one line which ended up being for the summer solstice. So, if the vertical lines on the wall are not from erosion, they may be a type of calendar marking the day. You would have to see where the sunshine touches each sunrise to see if that is the case. Thank you for taking us along! 👍👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😀💕🍀🌸

so i know what these mean! i know exactly what they are trying to say!

I'm really enjoying this. A couple of points. The sunrise shines directly west on the equinoxes, not the solstice. That's when you should check back on the tower shadows. Also, you can simulate shadows for any day of the year in Google Earth, although all of the small terrain features may not be in their model.

Seeing the petroglyph of the towers, and the noted 'finger' behind the plain tower, the north-south alignment may indicate something at noon, like a giant sundial. Also, the shadows at sunSET might be interesting.

so i know what these mean! i know exactly what they are trying to say!

You certainly got that right. KZbin just gets worse and worse and worse. You can't offend anybody or cause any controversy it seems. It's just starting to get too much now.

You are being censored so the idiots in the world don't get any ideas because there are many people out there who are defacing places like this. By censoring they are protecting it unfortunately for you! I've gone many ruins in Arizona where it's a 10 mile hike or more to get in and I don't tell anyone where I've been. Dumbasses will go out and knock those towers down they don't give a crap!

KZbin's demonetization policy is inscrutable. Watching you scramble up those carved-out steps had me a little puckered, but it was obvious you were in control the whole time. Thanks for another excellent video.

@@skipperclinton1087 i’m sorry i’m annoying but i’m trying my best. i want him to see my comments because he’s planning to go back a third time and i think i’m onto something which will help him make other discoveries. i did the same thing on the last video and he never saw it and he even went back there to try to figure it out. it’s not about you i want him to find the ancient road. i believe this was a corridor that a tribe used and these structures were made for temporary purposes for travelers and that these are road signs and that i unlocked part of their meaning for him so he can follow the road and see what else they left behind so i don’t care if i’m being annoying

The petroglyph is made significantly more interesting based on the fact that it is not just a long horn, but one standing a short distance from a pillar. Just as the rock formation appears to be above. To my mind, it links the two and your hypothesis fairly conclusively.
