I know I contributed to Scythia's culture victory when I visited Kurgan #65, super underrated. TripAdvisor recommended Kurgan #32, but I like to visit the less touristy sites, y'know.

Fun fact: in Russia we have a city literally named Kurgan, which was called that way because it was settled near one of the largest kurgans, the Tzar Kurgan. My sister lives there. This fact, I feel, is not as fun though 😅

Scythia was my fastest win ever. Turn 66 on deity on standard pangea with everything set to normal and no mods. They used to snowball absolutely out of control back when the game was released and loyalty wasn't yet a thing. Now they're not even half as good as they used to be. I like that Firaxis tried giving Scythia more dimension than just kill everyone but the one thing that I don't understand is why Kurgans don't add positive appeal. If they gave appeal it would have buffed them more than an extra faith with stirrups, because then you would be able to use Earth Goddess and actually get an economy based only on faith and gold.

Yeah I wish kurgans gave appeal or bare minimum at least +1 housing. I know they tried to give them tourism in the April patch but you're rarely going to be using them for that reason anyways so why not just give them housing

I once set myself (and completed) a Faithless Challenge - I had to complete a victory without ever earning a single point of faith. The ability to choose which natural wonders to enable helps, same with city states (No religious city states wanted). Even then, you have to either turn off Tribal Villages (or accept that a tribal hut can ruin a run), and be very careful not to build cities close to a resource that grants faith, such as cotton - AND you cannot complete a trade route that gives faith, use policy cards like Triangular Trade, or build any faith-generating Wonder... You also cannot do anything to defend against an AI civ with a religion, if they spread it, to stop them from gaining a religious victory. I eventually won, using a Duel map, with two versions of Mvemba as opponents, to ensure that no religion would start up...
