My 21 yr old just bought his first 3030 and got himself his first deer today. Said he almost puked at the smell getting it ready for processer. But said it was amazing experience and so proud to feed us all for the winter.

I took my first deer with my inherited 30/30 Nov 22,1987. I have a pre-64 Winchester 30-30 that was my mother’s father’s c1966. You should’ve seen the reaction from a few fathers there at the range when they saw the pristine condition it was in 25 years ago. It was never reblued but I did have to refinish its maple stock as it did not like rain drops. So I stripped, then finished and hand rubbed the conditioner on it. It has held in every rain event since the early 90’s.. Keep it cleaned and protected and it can be handed down😊

Now to all my critics out there! Especially those who assume that I am ignorant of the way of life of various characters who form part of our society. Wasn’t today’s episode a great family show. No blood was spilled, a young man enjoyed watching the beauty that nature provides by way of bucks that have been allowed to live long enough to grow majestic antlers, sitting in a heated shelter bonding with his father without having the urge to kill, to spent time bonding with his mother cooking cakes and joining in the decorating etc. Dad playing with his pets including cute Maggie Moo. Hi Daniel and Houston. I'm always excited to be on another hunting exhibition with you. It's really cold here in North Carolina. I'm about an hr from Ashville, where Hurricane Helene devastated the area. Please, everyone, pray for everyone there that's been affected by the horror that the storm left there. It's so cold now. Even with heaters that may have been provided, for those that are in tents or other uninsulated structures, it's very dangerous. There are so many families, many with the barest necessities. They all really need your prayers. Also, many thanks and grateful prayers to all the volunteers and doners that are doing what FEMA and the GOVT. Haven't done. God bless you. I spent a LOT of time in that stadium (well, earlier versions of it). I graduated from Moore High School and live in the neighborhood just North of it now. Congratulations Bulldogs on making State! Watching you guys deer hunt is killing me. I’m in North Florida and we just don’t see the amount of deer you guys have ever. We’re lucky if we can even get a shot at a legal buck during our deer season on my hunting lease. Our woods are so thick and green it’s like hunting in the jungle. I could never pass on a legal buck because I’m more interested in eating than antler size and the opportunity to see something legal to shoot is rare.

I feel you on the cold Daniel, it's 19° here and not looking like it'll be anything but teens and low twenties for awhile. Being curled up in my chair with my fuzzy afghan, this is one of VERY few times when I DON'T envy your farm lifestyle. Merry Christmas, I hope Emily is feeling better we pray for her every day.
