This is one of the rare "budget" decks where I actually would NOT advise a newcomer to the format to skip this deck. It's affordable, upgradeable and encourages brewing. It also has play against almost any deck through things like counterspells and burn spells. Definitely not the worst thing to pick up on a budget or for trolling your fnm.

Yea - it’s very easy to upgrade and can compete as is. Adding crackling Drake and the other Drake instead of some of the silly wizards in the deck would also be an upgrade on a budget. Work towards fixing the manabase, and then go from there 👍🏼

I respect Modern Lutri gamers. It's the companion that actually makes you change your deck to play it...Honestly I'd let them run 1x Fury even though it's banned now :P Would be cool to see your non-budget version in a future video.

Lutri only checks nonland, isn't it? The manabase could be with 4 copies per card, isn't it? because the list make me doubt it and I'm not sure

Yes, that was a stipulation I imparted on myself…but explaining it as a 4th stipulation was clunky in the intro, so I just left it out. Was trying to stay true to the “edh” theme 🙂
