"I Wonder Why" is a doo-wop song, written by Melvin Anderson and Ricardo Weeks , first recorded by Dion and the Belmonts , national pop chart hit, in 1958.

Lewis Howes, you are correct. However, the song we recorded is the first half of the song “You’re Just in Love.” This song was written by Irving Berlin and first performed in the year 1950.

Frank Pittmann, that is a different song. Irving Berlin wrote it and it was in a musical in 1950. The correct title is “You’re just in Love.” And we only sing the first part of the song. However when I recorded it twice with the Jim Busta Band, we sang both parts ;)

As others have said here, You're Just in Love from Call Me Madam written by the great Irving Berlin. This arrangement as played most noted to Lenny Gomulka and Chicago Push without the counter melody. It would be interesting for you two to add the counter melody into an arrangement as a polka. Well done!

I recorded this song twice with the Jim Busta Band and my brother saying the counter melody.
