Daily reminder, Rengoku had just gone multiple days with minimal sleep, protected five train cars, brawled with Akaza for at least 2 minutes, and became a doughnut yet he *STILL* had enough strength to hold *WAXING MOON THREE* in place. He was half-dead and still managed to have a grip that exceeded Akaza's strength to the point that it was easier for him to rip his hands off than to pry himself from Rengoku's grip. And I'm supposed to believe he *isn't* the strongest Hashira?

Yes, Gyomei was the strongest. Rengoku and Shinazugawa were damn close seconds tho

@@dawsonbryant56 we've seen near enough every Hashira hanging with a Waxing. The other thing that is VERY important is that Rengoku wasn't in top shape while he was hanging with Akaza, and was practically a corpse when he was holding Akaza in place with enough strength that *Waxing Three*(who is also a PRIMARILY PHYSICAL COMBATANT) didn't have enough strength to pry himself free. Akaza couldn't escape Rengoku's grip while the man was at least half-dead. Rengoku made Akaza look like a bitch. The man was struggling to escape from a corpse. Also, Rengoku never got a Slayer mark or anything of that sort. So, I'm still inclined to think that top form Rengoku is in the ballpark where he could last for a bit with Waxing One. Solo outright? I doubt, leaning towards "Not a chance in hell". But at least give him a fight to remember? Definitely. Now imagine if he managed to get a Slayer Mark, if he lived that extra Arc. Think of what a beast Rengoku would be then. I don't know about you, but I'd suspect he could put Akaza and Doma in a box. Akaza handily, and Doma with some effort- likely a lot of effort cuz that guy is a bit of a cheater. With his armory of Blood Arts and what not.

@@Ohimeshinso if rengoku had survived to the end, yea, no doubt he would have been a huge problem. The thing to keep in mind though is that Akaza wasn't exactly fighting seriously during every moment of the battle, no demon slayer would have been able to one on one any of the top 4, Akaza almost washed Giyu and Tanjiro together, and not to mention number 2 was better then him (granted on demon blood art alone but still).
