For one month Rob Greenfield lived just like the average person and WORE every single piece of trash he created. Why? To create a visual of how much trash just one of us creates and serve as a mirror to society to self-reflect, question habits and explore alternatives to live in balance with Earth.
Rob Greenfield is an activist and humanitarian dedicated to leading the way to a more sustainable and just world. He embarks on extreme projects to bring attention to important global issues and inspire positive change. His work has been covered by media worldwide including National Geographic and he’s been named “The Robin Hood of modern times” by France 2 TV. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Hello Dear Friends! This is Robin Greenfield. Together, we can take our power back from consumerism and capitalism and put the power back into our own hands! One step at a time we can reconnect with Earth, with our communities and with ourselves. We can meet our needs by fostering deeper relationships with each other, by learning skills and by simplifying our lives. And this can all be done with great joy. :) I'm here to be of service to you and Earth. Love, Robin Greenfield

Can we please start with cups and straws? So many people walk around with these disposables. Do they really not connect the dots? What I admire about you is that you can calmly lay it out there (pick topic)! Honestly, I still feel judgmental and angry most of the time on how people have been whitewashed and don't seem to care. I thank you because I'm working on reducing, maybe eliminating, all vestiges of "industrialism". Don't want it!

you people are insane, maybe just focus on your own life, fix yourself and stop trying to control everyone else. Good grief, you idiots ruin everything. It won't work, the rest of us know what is going on....

Genius idea! Although, the presentation felt a little stretched out, with a lot of repetition. I really wish Rob shared more about the encounters he had on the streets, the most consumed and "heavy" product, and deep personal realizations. If the ultimate target audience is the mass consumer, sharing their instant opinions and realizations s they are, "on-the-spot" would be such a beautiful touch as well. Thanks for your work, Rob!

People need to stop eating meat. That would make a great big difference. I'm Indian and I've been vegetarian all my life. There is plenty of choice in food. You just have to learn to compromise a little

@@MukeshKumar-jo3jl you would have to go vegan, ie cut out dairy to make the difference. (Most soy crops are grown for cattle feed) We produce more methane than cows. Humans are the problem.
