I worked for Walgreens pre covid and it was starting to get to be like this. I have been in the Wags family my entire life (my mom worked there too back in the days when Wags was a great place to work and they cared about their employees.). These places only care about the money and the bottom line, not the actual customers or the employees. I stopped working for them when they changed that mentality. Bless you for doing this video. I enjoyed you telling the exact truth of the life working there. And you weren't malicious, just factual. The people we work with do make it better but it's hard to survive on this job alone. Angry customers make for bad retail but they don't really understand how bad it is to work for these companies because we, as much as the customers, aren't treated well. We are all just numbers.

I'm 51 and now that my family have passed it sure gets lonely sometimes. I do still have a half brother in another state and my adult son who is in college. I cannot seem to connect with people anymore perhaps thats for a reason I dont know. I have been praying for companionship. I do keep hope and try to meet people in public like walking in the park but many ignore me or act like they dont hear me. I never had this issue when younger so either society has changed or I have and dont realize it. I'm taking care of my 82-year-old mom also. I am very grateful to have the ability to do that as where I live in Olympia Washington it is extremely expensive a single bedroom apartment is 1800 to 2 Grand a month. And I'm using the time to go back to my community college Google course online. If you can a great way to make connection impossible companionship is that volunteer places in your city say a food bank or a soup kitchen a church. I have met some really amazing women just at the food bank. Probably like you when you're younger I was very fortunate to have a lot of female companionship for many years of my life. I went through a period where I needed eight surgeries and had health complications and that completely changed my whole life and trajectory in my life. Now that I have got all those things dealt with and doing much better physically and mentally I feel that I'm starting my over again but at 44 years old. And yes you are very right more people are lonely and depressed than any other time in history and very few have real meaningful companionship. look at only fans it's so sad all these young girls selling themselves online and all these creepy guys buying the stuff too. It's sad and sick on both sides. One thing I need to do is get back into growing my own herb as I haven't grown anything since last summer and even though I only do edibles I like to grow just for the challenge of it. I still have more than I could consume probably years but it's the challenge of it that gets me now I just give it away my neighbors and Friends. I've been growing and breeding my own since 15 years old. Let alone my doctor recommended myself to take mushrooms and that really helps especially with the introspective part of it realizing how much I've worked on myself. If you ever need any help I need somebody to talk to let me know. But remember most of all stay strong and keep building up your inner self. God bless you

CVS AND WALGREENS are owned by the big 3 -- Black Rock, Vanguard, State Street and they buy out the cheaper mom and pop chains and single locations (as said here) and suddenly your town doesn't have cheap scripts or OTC meds. This practice should be illegal.

Thank you for posting this video. No one understands what we go through as pharmacy techs. I have been a tech for over a year. I work at small pharmacy in a grocery chain. It’s part-time and it supplements my full-time. I love doing what I do. I absolutely love my co-workers we get along great. It’s a lot to get certified. So I decided to not do it at the present moment.

Amazing how times has changed. When I was a teenager I worked at a grocery store called Winn- Dixie. I football tackled a fat lady in the parking lot for stealing a ham. Once they went out the door without paying they were fair game.

Hey! I've been working at Winn-Dixie for over two years now. In today's world, there is no allowance for football tackling a customer who is stealing items. When I first started working for the store I chased down three ladies with three carts of groceries who made a dash for the parking lot via the entrance doors. I was able to snatch one of the carts away from one of the women, but they drove off nonetheless. I was informed that what I had done was a "fire-able offence," and to never do it again. I was told that retrieving a cart load of groceries was not worth being shot or knifed. Our store averages right at $1000 stolen each day!!!!!!!!

Walgreens pharmacy is the absolute worse. Put in for a refill and 90% of the time I do not hear anything from them other than “processing” for over a week to 10 days! Almost always requires a phone call and a long wait on hold up to 45 minutes or more. ! Hate Walgreens pharmacy and never use them unless my mail order pharmacy can’t do it.

Wow. Just found your channel and subscribed. I work for a pizza franchise and only stay because I like the crew I work with and I’m not micromanaged. So relatable.

My niece got fired from Kaiser Permanante in California for saying something about them on her Facebook. Worked there 30 years as a pharmacist.

This should be a lesson to everybody. Get a trade or get a job that pays well or a skill that is in demand I'm a water treatment plant operator and we are in demand and make good money and I'll tell you what it sounds like you're Walgreens job is way more stressful than my job even though I'm responsible for the drinking water for thousands of people. I wish you luck in your endeavors paralegal is good skill to have and I hope your new job you are successful in which I suspect you will be.

I left my old pharmacy and went to Walgreens a few years ago upon my husbands suggestion…it’s where he takes his Rx to get refilled. So far I’ve been satisfied. You said you like the people you work with but not at the job, funny, this hot home, I found this to be true when I worked for Marriott (same scenario)

Thanks for sharing the honest truth. It's been a long time since I've had to worry about "hours". I just always assumed they were there, if I wanted them, which I didn't. It didn't even cross my mind that I had to fight to get work. I hope things will turn around in a few months.

I worked in a Walmart pharmacy once. The head pharmacist had been written up twice. If he was written up a 3rd time, he would be fired. He was mean to his crew, to the customers, and was a big jerk. I was miserable. I ended up working as a front cashier. I liked it much better. But you're correct. It's tough to make it on a low salary. Working on your feet on a cement floor is a killer. My feet would ache for days. I hope things get better for you. Thanks for the reminder to be kind. ❤️🙏🇺🇲

It's good to get this out there. It's happening everywhere. More and more older people working,,and those are the ones who are ailing. Putting more on them because they have been taught to show up! Technology getting more complicated, and things moving way too fast. Stress is high. Nobody slows down. No one checks on anyone. Now, I don't really mean no one does ,but most. We need to reset constantly . Pray always. Just some thing one my mind.

I finally transferred all my prescriptions from Walgreens because my patience is done. No problems at all with the hospital pharmacy is CLEAN, pleasant and never overwhelmed. If Walgreens can’t fix it, then they can lose their customers.

I live in central Gulf coast FL. There are too many walgreens, some better than others. I have noticed a big change at the store in the past 5 years. They all seem to be disorganized, and too much turnover of employees. I also do not understand why they need to sell any type of clothing items. It just takes up unnecessary space. Items that are necessary often are not stocked well. Seems to me there is a distribution issue that I did not see a decade ago. I shop there only because its a mile from my house, but no longer enjoy the experience.

I love my local pharmacy. They text me when prescription are already. Now, on the other hand, my provider wants me to go with someone else. The mail order pharmacy are always late with my prescription. It might even be USPS fault.

Great video! I was thinking of stacking a credential and getting pharmacy tech training on the job through a big pharmacy. I'm a Medical Assistant now. I appreciate the insight so much. Don't forget about FMLA, which covers your need for time to care for yourself or a family member without fear of losing your job.

Some people can't drive to a further location. Or if they can they really need to be able to pick up their prescription on the first try. I use Walgreens and do my best to be positive and patient with the wonderful people there that obviously are doing their best under difficult circumstances.

The pharmacy manager ended it up working for a competitor. When I saw him he lost weight, was graying gave me the impression of being a human robot. This pharmacist was brilliant!!! Gorgeous!!! Customers loved and asked for him... he taught me a lot about medications, work ethics, public relations communication... And we all worked to make things easier. Certain techs would only work with him...even if they were coming from another job...
