I came across this today in May 2024. What a lovely gentleman your father was and to work for Harry Selfridge! Wow! Ive always has a soft spot for Selfridges in London but of course nowadays what with London showing so much violence and unease its not good to go there any more. Another sad passing. Thank you for sharing this treasure with so many people! ❤💐

Sharp as a tack for 102. Here's hoping I make it anywhere NEAR that vicinity of age as he did. May he rest in peace, and thanks for sharing with us his invaluable stories.

I'm going to Britain in September specifically for Selfridge's I so admire the man with a very sad ending. Broke my heart when I saw a fabulous documentary. I wish I could find that documentary specifically. I believe they said he would wander outside the store while not being allowed in due to his look and financial ruin. I don't know if the family did that or not, as the details are sketchy. I do admire the man for the fact he supported women. Liberty, Harrods, hold no draw for me as they were most likely the stuffy stores who were actually rude to their customers. I can't wait to photograph Harry Selfridge's iconic department store. A true visionary of a man. Cheers from the USA.

I just started watching the series and I absolutely love it! My version of a soap opera and as clean and kosher as I can stand for this day and age. I wish they would make more period-piece shows like Mr. Selfridge more often.
