Your Bravery and Wisdom is everything. Much respect for you. My Granny passed on early July and as the family we were afforded an opportunity to see her for the last time inside the coffin and I knew from that moment I'll be dealing with crippling trauma. The sight of a casket creeps me out, now a dead body is a whole different story even though it was of a person I knew and loved dearly. Since that day, I haven't been able to sleep at home let alone be in the house alone. It breaks my heart but it's my reality and people close to me do not understand it at all.

Your granny was a spirit in a body, just like you and the rest of us. She used that body to express her love for you, to hold when you were a baby, to hug you when you fell trying to walk for the first, to hug and hold you when someone hurt you as a such. Through the same body she continued to express her love, support and protection throughout her life with you. In the later years of her life she didnt have to do much but her presence through that body was everything. The lifeless body you saw represent an end of a journey, an end to her expressing herself through that body. She is loving you now from a distance. For a while her energy or sense of her spirit or the emptiness left by her departure will still feel the walls of her house. Accept her passing and surrender, she still loves. Why would allow yourself to be tortured by an image of a body that was used to express love for you? You wouldnt have known your granny except through that body. Life is stages, in one stage she was in a body in another she is a spirit connected with the divine. Loving you from a distance this time around. You can also be grateful for mortuary people who tried their best to give you the best possible last image of her. Celebrate her life.

This is my elder brother. It's very sad that this interview was done on the 24th October and a week after he almost lost his life, he was involved in accident. It was almost broadcast posthumously. He is currently sitting at home he can't walk both his legs were broken

I feel like this guy has blocked off so much and I’m so worried about the day he’ll wake up and start processing all those emotions it’ll be overwhelming! He is dissociated , in future he could experience ptsd , anxiety,depression and all that he’s putting up a strong face but he needs to be in touch with his emotions and possibly seek some psychological support just for the future . He talks about how he doesn’t react to certain aspects of this job eg the rituals and comforting, he’s blocking all those emotions off . I hope you see this and try to avoid future mental health issues because it’s real, you’re still a hero in my eyes but take time to take care of your mental health dear.

I worked at the Hospice where we were losing patients more often, now i'm working at the Hospital, i am still dealing with dead people, meaning to clean and to wrap the body, ready for undertaker. I don't get used to see someone dead. It is heart breaking to see a person suffering from pain, at the same time it's not nice to see a person passed. I think a lot and i picture the deceased for a long time.

It is indeed, the trauma stays for a long while. I would also hear his voice calling my name, but with time you begin to embrace the thoughts and images that brought the trauma. A month is still fresh, one day the tears will dry up and rather you will have a smile on your face remembering the precious moments shared.

I relate so so much to this guy's experiences shame because my mom also owns a funeral parlour. My highlight of this video was Relebogile's facial expressions 😂😂😂🤞🏾. My face was always like that until I also got involved in the family business, mind you I'm a girl. It's really a sad reality shame. One thing I always pray for is to never come across a corpse that has eyes wide open😩, I think I would die or pee on myself in that instant.

We have a lot traumatic stories from this industry, I used to work at a funeral home/mortuary as well as forensic unit and I honestly feel that I felt a sense of purpose during that period in firstly handling the deceased with dignity and dealing with the grieving families and give comfort. It’s imperative to be patient, peaceful and project strength when in this type of business as you dealing with families in a vulnerable state and you need to take a role of pillar.

Yoh, what an episode. I had to be the one dressing my mom at the funeral parlour the day before her burial. I remember being so upset about the 2 men who worked there who were supposed help me. They just carried her like they didn’t care, they didn’t show any emotional concern when I cried, I mean not even give me a hug and I was in that room alone. I understand maybe they remove themselves emotionally but I wish they could be trained to learn to learn how to deal with mourning families.

After dealing with a mafia funeral parlour in 2019 that kept on threatening us the then grieving family, I researched more on morticians jobs and I think I can do the job for the sake of giving people a decent farewell. I believe that dead bodies or spirits cannot hurt anyone who is trying to help them.

😂😂 Rele's facial expressions. I kind of relate in some way. I'm a medical student so for the first 2 and a half years of my studying atleast once a week, we had to work with cadavers(bodies donated to science by families and unclaimed bodies from government hospitals). The room was ALWAYS cold and you had to literally touch and cut different parts of the body depending on the system we're studying. And we were taught to always respect those bodies cause they were someone's family. It truly was a humbling experience.

What would we death-fearers do without these folks. This is more than just a business. It is more of a calling that one gets ordained for somewhat in this life ,an undertaker family friend once remarked to me. I guess most us we hardly express gratitude to these service providers once the funeral is over simply because we believe it was a business deal, finish. May I use your platform to express my gratitude to these fine gentlemen and ladies. In my parents' family I have seen them literally bury everyone from parents to siblings. Out of a family of ten, I am the only one still alive. Thank you for the show Relebogile...

This was very informative as Environmental Health Practitioner doing inspections at mortuaries I can attest public facilities need an upgrade honestly and mostly dnt even comply regardless of fines and summons and worse with state of the country closing them down is not the best option😒 kunzima you end up don’t eat because it’s baaaaaad😩 On the other side i’ve always wanted to ask my partner such questions because at his home also have same business but he’s always just neutral and relaxed, where as after inspections am always terrified🫣 But now I totally understand his side but mina am still not fit shame no matter how much I try am too emotional 😭

I have great respect for our brothers and sisters who works at mortuaries. I believe they get counseling for this wonderful job they are doing for us❤️❤️❤️The trauma of having to attend ppl who died due to accidents goodness it must be horrific. May God bless you ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹💐💐💐

Found my dad in a bad condition when he disappeared and he was discovered inside a river😥😥 i still cannot unsee what I saw since 2017 till today but thanks to guys like him my dad was dressed properly and the wounds on his face were covered so that we could see him for the last time 😭😭😭 its so scary xem the cold room is hell on its own🤞🤞
