We are definitely not alone. The galaxy is so big there must be other creatures out there. The question is whether we will ever meet them. The fact that we haven't yet suggests none of them get much more technologically advanced than us. That suggests that civilizations tend to end before they reach those abilities.... Grim prospects for us but given climate change and nuclear wars, not unthinkable

0:57 watching this one 11 days later, but always wonder with your skills and knowledge of the game, why don’t you pick a couple of civ instead of hesitating that long? I mean sure, you may lose a couple of game that you wouldn’t otherwise, but you might as well enjoy the luxury of picking the best one according to the map you get.

IMO, this one game isn't enought to write off keshiks especially given that he played keshiks into a civ that specialises as an anti-cav civ. I mean come on, keshiks played into camels and phalanx spears, both of which are hard counters to cav, what did you expect? People similarly complain about jans and sipahi after using them poorly. Also, please note that the abbasid player had all blacksmith upgrades which mongol did not.

Keshik gets countered by Zhu ge nu, Knights, MAA, Sipahi, Ghazi, archers, longbows, spearmen +, Camel+, camel archers+, crossbows+, Mangonel+, Springalds etc. Some of these units are supposed to counter light units, but for Keshik it gets countered by almost everything. It is too situational unit and it gets proved all the time. Even beastyqt is suggesting to switch to MAA and crossbows on Castlle age and imperial age. Because keshiks just waste gold and too expensive and have too many counters. But, MAA have less counters and is way too cheap and food can be gathered safely plust little gold (20).

At least you often SEE Keshik and Mangudai in games. Great Bombard in contrast, is SO useless, so ineffective it's just NOT THERE, it's basically NOT A THING in aoe 4. Keshik is the same situation as the Jans, it's much weaker than the general unit, that makes it TERRIBLE late game. SAME issue, we must address both

Great Bombards could use a buff because Ottoman Imperial is weak enough in general to warrant it, but overall I feel the main reason they're so rare isn't because the unit itself is "worthless" but rather because Ottomans just don't want the game to reach those late imperial stages in the first place as that's not where the strength of the civ as a whole lies. Jans however, are fine. Yes they're weaker at being HC's than the default HC, but unlike Keshiks vs Lancers, at least Jans are quite a lot better than HC's in other roles (blasting cav) and just a handful can turn the tide of battle when used under the right circumstances. If I'm not mistaken Jans also shoot a fair bit faster so they're solid at holding the line against melee units in general. Keshiks just do what normal Lancers do but worse (albeit at a lower price point) which really hurts in the late-game when population efficiency becomes just as, if not more important than cost efficiency and *the* go-to unit for population efficiency is replaced by a less pop efficient variant.

Keshiks need to be baseline worse than lancers because you can double produce them in feudal age, but that just makes them terrible units for the mid-to-late game. I think the way you buff them realistically is to give them more upgrades in castle and imp so that you can make them as powerful as a lancer again, but you have to pay extra to do it.

The way you delve into the strategies and elaborate on the gameplay is like watching Bob Ross paint happy little trees, but with trebuchets. Now, I couldn't help but notice that quick little pivot towards the end of your video where you brought up the movie 'Dodgeball.' Ah, an absolute classic! I can already hear the echoing whistle of those rubber balls zinging through the air! But mate, I've got to say, your dodgeball memory might've taken a bit of a boomerang hit. You mentioned Adam Sandler being in Dodgeball... well, that's like saying the Malians have a solid navy in AoE. A bit off target, don't you think? 😅 See, the magic of Dodgeball was delivered by two other Hollywood heavyweights: Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller! Remember? Vaughn with his laid-back charm playing Peter LaFleur, the underdog owner of Average Joe's Gym, and Stiller as the obnoxious yet hilarious White Goodman, the villain who's about as likable as a horde of enemy rams knocking at your town center. In fact, if Dodgeball was Age of Empires, I'd wager Vaughn would be the cunning player, making do with limited resources but outsmarting the enemy (much like your brilliant gameplay strategies, mate!). And Stiller? He's probably that player who hoards all the resources and builds walls everywhere, but still can't dodge a well-planned ambush! 😂 But hey, Adam Sandler in Dodgeball? That's a spinoff I'd love to see! Sandler could be the coach, giving nonsensical advice and cracking jokes that only he finds funny. Who knows, maybe he'd throw in a Waterboy reference or two! But anyway, keep up the epic work, Drongo. Just remember: if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball... but even if you can't, at least make sure it's the right actors you're dodging! 😁 Can't wait for your next cast, where hopefully the only mistakes made will be by the Mongols thinking they can beat the Abbasid in a cavalry fight.

Camel archer spearmen is pretty much baseline strongest overall comp for Abba, throw a mix of gulam and a few handcannon and siege and it is arguably strongest endgame comp, have played this comp many times even 1v2 in ffa and pushed forward and won. The only times it gets halted is from almost purely handcannon and maa/knights spams clashing together but since you have culverins they have no way to stop you from making 3 mangonels and killing the ranged again. Pretty sure marinelord in the ffa tourney said the same statement that Abba is probably the strongest late game either tied or ahead of china eng and rus

@@jeremybolton8188 every army has its counter. in this game he was camel rider hand cannoneer and spearmen so the/an answer is maa and spaced archer. if abb is using the combo you just said i.e camel archer, spearmen, maa and mangonel then using my trustee formula the answer to that 4 unit mix is once again maa and spaced archers. Essentially you'll be capitalising on the lack of a knight threat

I have found that camels are really strong. Their main weakness seems to be their high cost. Camels are a pain late game when economy is running like mad. And this happens a lot in team games for the casual players.

Keshik isn't gonna work, and shouldn't work against Abbasid imo. They're the best anti-cav civ in the game. That said, I haven't seen them do well in any situation yet. Part of me thinks it's cos they're being used wrong, and we've yet to figure out how to utilize them better. Balancing them may be difficult. With their life-steal, they could easily snowball. Even a small improvement could drastically swing things in their favour, and make them op. I don't envy the devs. I think they need to wait a bit to see how players adapt before buffing them.
