I have walked out of a store, gone to the car, cooled off by writing a detailed description of the borderline abuse I endured as a handicapped shopper. Then once was calm and had the ideas straight called and spoken with the store manager (Wal-Mart) and let him know I would be mailing a copy to the regional department as well. I worked on my now non working feet in both factories and customer service often at the same time and I will do my best to make my voice heard. Not just a snarky review online, but call a manager and follow-up with a letter. Indifference is compliance and not a vehicle to change. Stepping down from my soapbox... blushing😳😊 Danni, I loved this video, I am learning a lot from you. It's fun and I get to shop vicariously with you since so many stores don't have carts for handicapped and /or the aisles are so clogged with displays it's hard to get around.

I have worked in retail for quite some time. There are two problems that I see; first most retailers have cut the number of people they have on the floor. Second, the trend has been to not hire full time workers, but part time workers, who don't get any benefits and simply are not invested and/or interested in doing their best.

I took a load to Goodwill today…the guy taking my things was not friendly, opened every box, told me “we don’t take this, we don’t take that, that has a smudge on it, we won’t take it…even asked me..”what’s in this box?”…um..just what it says on it!! Lol….never had this happen before! I went inside and their prices were ridiculous for condition or quality, shelves not that full, and at check out they had a paper saying they were in need of clothes and shoes. I told her they needed a paper saying what they wouldn’t take! So maybe they are trending to be more of a clothing store..at this one at least!🤷♀️

I'm one of those crafters you were just mentioning but have given ALL of my craft items to a nearby Nursing Home for them to enjoy. I'm downsizing in the hopes my home will sell soon. My passion is genealogy and that is coming with me. My hobbies are quilting and beading bracelets. I've given away a lot of fabric to Goodwill. I have a lot of patterns to sell on ebay whenever I get up the nerve to start reselling again. I do need to get at least 150 items out of here before I move! I will continue to make quilts, work on genealogy and get back to beading when I have time. Quality time with our two granddaughter's is most important to me. Life is a roller coaster ride for sure but am looking forward to a new adventure. I'm 77 and life is short. I have no idea how I got to my parents age so fast? Enjoy each and every day. I do love thrifting and learned of a thrift store near me that I had no idea existed. Can't wait to go once I get a car. Lots going on here! Enjoy your videos so much Danni. You ae the first person I started watching on youtube and then Tiffany and Josh came into my life. So enjoy learning from you. Keep up the amazing work.

😂 If there are three things teachers don’t need they are 1) Teacher ornaments (our trees are only so big) 2) Teacher mugs-our cupboards are only so big and 3) teacher decor items-we don’t decorate our homes with teacher items. Gift cards or simply a thoughtful note are great! It’d be like everyone buying you I’d rather be thrifting ornaments, mugs and decor. A gift card to the thrift store would be more fun. 😊

Agree, Customer Service is not as in past years, but unfortunately customer manners have become less than polite. Am a retired retail worker and experienced the decline of common courtesy. Right now keeping good retail people is difficult because of poor working conditions and lack of working hours. Most retail businesses do not offer full.time, insurance, etc.and cutting hours is one of the few ways a business can cut costs. We are becoming a society of ghosts, think of the personal transactions we do not have to do- you can bank, food shop, etc. People are becoming unkind because they do not have to be, social skills are not needed when you are interacting with a machine.

I'll never be able to afford to replace them. I've never done such horrible things to others, because my dead father bought them all for my birthday, one year. I used to work for Walmart for 21 years. I remember customers getting angry with me because we were short staffed. I was trying to cover 4 different departments. Running back and forth. Doing my best to get all my work done and still help customers. Management kept getting on my a** for taking too long to get certain things done. Customers were like can you get someone from another department to help you. No, because they are in the same situation I'm in. And Let me say customers can be down right hateful. People say then hire more people. But a lot of people can't pass the Drug Test or Back Ground check. Also the more Employees a store has the less hours you will get. Each store is only allowed so many Associates per department. Each department is allowed only so many hours. Those hours are split up according to the number of Associates working in that department. Also the number of Hours and Associate per store is based on Sales and Profits. The higher amount of Sales and Profits, the more hours and Associates a store is allowed. It gets a little complicated. And most customers just don't get it. Back to what I said before about trying to work 4 departments. That means stocking Sales floor, doing price checks, working the backroom and back stock, cleaning shelves, Doing price changes, assisting customers, pulling recalls, pulling out dated, bad, and damaged product off the shelf, putting up returns from Service Desk. Setting features. Resetting mods. Etc. Etc. And that's for ALL 4 departments. And we have to deal with Management, Coworkers and Customers as well as unruly children. As a customer if you get irritated listening to a child having a tantrum because they can't have want they want. Try listening to it several times during the day. Also other customers arguing with each other. Customers breaks something and doesn't tell anyone, then another customer ends up slipping and falling. And gets mad at us. The list goes on and on.

There was a local news story this year, where a man bought a small picture and after he brought it home, he discovered that the back of the picture was lumpy. He cut a small portion of paper to allow him to see inside. You guessed it....he found cold, hard, cash. It was close to 100.00. He paid 2.00 for the picture.
