First season had Pearl, 2nd season she was gone but False was added, so maybe you'd be right and Ren would be in Season 3? and each season they'll just cycle through Hermits + keep Gem. Or maybe in Season 3 Pearl, False, Gem, and Ren could be on? Though Pearl probably didn't return to S2 because in S1 she was saying she wasn't all that into the Roleplay aspect of Empires

@@Werewolf914 I tuned in to a stream of pearl a few months ago and she said she just got very busy and that’s why she didn’t join for s2, but that she still wanted to be there maybe for s3. Seeing more hermits on empires would be so cool though, some really fit the vibe of empires too well

I really appreciate that Ren took the time to clean up after himself on the Empires server (as well as HC9!) The Hermits abrupt departure from Empires left a lot of arcs in mid juggle, the fact that Ren has taken the time to not only return, but to close off his Giblet arc shows that he cares. Even if in closing the arc he has created quite the challenge for poor Pixel :) I do hope that more of the Hermits choose to go back now that the portal is two way, many of them have things that they were in the middle of and it seems a disservice to the gracious hosts to just drop them with tattered endings.

Same!! I feel like this is also a trend for Hermitcraft seasons ending. It was a little different in season 8, but before that, everyone just left and it felt more like they abandoned the server, instead of ending the season. I get that it's not always possible or easy, but some sense of closure is much appreciated. - Which is why i for one enjoyed the ending of season 8. The end of season 7 just felt sad, because everyone just slowly dropped out. It didn't feel worthy of such a grand season.

I suspect that the christmas theme of the empires stuff on hermitcraft meant they decided to just make it happen sooner than later so they have time before christmas is done and gone to finish whatever they have planned

That's actually really clever to do that _now,_ because in prior versions, [0,0,0] was _bedrock._ But now that the world goes down to Y=-64, the coordinate origin of the world _is_ mineable.

I think that since its a protocol to scan the world, the genesis block is sort of like a base to the world, and you can learn everything about it from it. So Rens just gonna scan empires.

Thank you for the recap I started watching that final episode of the King storyline right before the Empires one and haven't yet gone back to rewatch the other episodes of this season Also before anyone asks I don't know why it took me so long to watch Ren, each season I watch a few Hermits I haven't before and I'm sure by Season 10 I'll be watching all of them. I've been watching since Season 7 and this season False, Beef, Xisuma, and now Ren are the ones I've added to my watch list, it's just theres so many to keep up with that are all amazing it's hard to find the time but each season I'll start watching a Hermit I have yet to watch.
