i5 10400f RTX 3060 - Dragon's Dogma 2 - Vermund

Testing the game in Vermund a highly demanding CPU place.
The game as it is right now, it's IMPOSSIBLE to keep up 60 fps with ANY CPU in busy cities with heavy NPC density. RE engine was NOT MEANT to run large open world with a high amount of calculation, geometry, interaction, etc, etc. Capcom used RE engine to cut costs in production, since it's a built in house engine, same issue was noticed in Dragon Age 4, where Bioware was forced to use Frostbite engine to develop the game, because EA refused to use UE.
Well, to fix the issue, Capcom have to implement the very same thing CDProjeket did with Cyberpunk. Reduce NPC density manually, but I doubt Capcom will do it. Maybe use meaningless NPCs as visual assets, with no collision, geomtry calculation, yada, yada. Well, let's see.
CPU - I5 10400f ( not the minimum, but close enough of 10600 )
GPU- RTX 3060 12GB RAM
RAM- 16GB
NVME - Kingstom
OS - Windos 11

I'm sitting at 60-70fps avg in that area with a max oc 9900ks. Literally the same core architecture but proof super tuned ram/clocks make a mind-blowing difference

I saw a video last night of a 9900 as well, was about 32 - 63 at the main city, but was paired with a 3070. Still, CPU limitation is terrible.

@@drakkull007 yes it's terrible. It's a shame, a game so technically unimpressive runs a lot worse than much older much better looking games. I have videos on my channels as well.

Yeah, because the problem is with CPU usage, even highend CPU + GPU takes a very hard hit with this game in major cities.

If you're going to use any type of super resolution like DLSS don't you need to lower the resolution? 1080p screen with DLSS/FSR running @ 1080p = no difference?

Just to prove that the problem in major cities independs of GPU regardless your setting, even in 720p. It's CPU problem, only...

DLSS and FSR render the game at a lower resolution then scale back up to whatever you have it set at

@@Kmangopod , point is: It doens't matter in large cities in this game. The problem is with CPU usage, the GPU was using only 56% in town. And no, you don't have to lower resolution in order to use DLSS or FSR, if you use DLSS in 720p, the AI will downscale from 720 >>>> below if needed. Best case scenario is to use DLSS/FSR with your native monitor resolution.

At the main city, nope. Outside the cities, the game runs smoothly.

whats the highest settings you can run while getting 60fps in the wilds?

With DLSS in quality mode, maximum with NO RT. I use vsync, but without vsync I hit 86fps.

It's not a GPU problem, in town the GPU only uses 56%. It's a CPU problem and doesn't matter which one you have, the game will run badly inside the main city.
