I still use mine ! I have a RTX 3060 12GB, 32 GB DDR3 1866 MHz and with the recent release of the FSR 3 framegen mods on the most demanding games, I still can get 85~90 fps on Cyberpunk @ 1080p and nightmare settings (the only thing I didn't enable was path tracing). It's been running @ 4,5 GHz for 12 years right now. Still works like a charm. Only 65°C with liquid metal cooling =)

@@anturoy4068 Well, I'm a Linux gamer and I'm not used to play most recent games. At the moment the most demanding game I'm playing is Days Gone. At Ultra preset it runs most of time at 60-75 fps with gpu at 100% and cpu at 70-75%; there is some rare stuttering that I think is due to Proton "emulation".Probably, on Windows you should achieve an overall good performance, better than mine... generally estimated 10-15% better. I tried Prey (2017) at maximum preset and it runs extremely smooth at 130-135 fps.

I currently have an i7 3770 @ 4.3, ddr3 16gb 2133, gtx 980 that I've had for 8 years now I guess, I've been trawling through tests of an i7 3770 paired with an rtx 3060 to see if it's worth me hanging onto this system for a couple more years maybe. This video seems like a real outlier when compared to the others I've seen, where people are showing quite severe gpu bottlenecks, especially in games like cyberpunk. Is this your personal rig? Do you get many stutters or slowdowns at all when shit gets hectic in games?

Did you get the RTX 3060? If so, was it better than the gtx 980 with the i7-3770? (I know that the rtx 3060 is in fact better than the gtx 980, I'm not sure if the 3060 is better than a 980 with 3770)

@@rxw No I didn't, I've explored the idea plenty and this video was an outlier, nearly all other tests I could find showed a fairly large bottleneck, sometimes as much as 40 to 50%, so although it would be an improvement in titles not CPU limited in any way, it's going to be held back a lot by an i7 3770. That's fine though if you don't mind, and if you turn up the resolution to 1440p or 4k then the GPU will become the limiting factor once again. Personally I'm just looking to do a whole system upgrade at some point in the near future, I don't need to do it yet but it is inevitable at some point. At that time maybe there will be newer options, so I will do it all at the same time I think.

The only bottleneck visible here comes from the gpu, which is one of the strongest now. What a stunning cpu veteran. Bear in mind though that some recent games use CPU instructions that this veteran can't deal with easily. Try to play on 4 latest Assassin's Creed or Kingdom Come at max settings with it… Catastrophic

@@php600 I have an rtx 3060 paired with an i7 12700k and I get about the same fps in red dead but im playing in 4k, so by simple logic if im getting the same fps with a higher resolution with the same card but a better cpu the bottleneck is of course the cpu dumbass 🤦‍♂️

@@ed1tz468 No, at high resolutions the bottleneck is the GPU, look at the CPU usage and GPU usage. GPU at 95/100%, CPU at 60/70%.

Yes, but the CPU is almost on it's limit in some games. I think that this is the higher GPU this i7 can handle, maybe using a 3070 it would start to bottleneck. And if use lower graphics it will bottleneck in some games.

No dont pair it with a 3060 as it is newer generation card which launched recently and the i7 3770 launched back at 2012 and 3060 will be a huge bottleneck for it. In simple terms a 3060 will not perform at it's peak performance neither the cpu will. With this cpu you can pair a 1660 super or 1070 which will have slight bottleneck but you can easily play games at 1080p medium to high settings.

This processor can up to 4.2GHz if you have a Z chip MoBo. Intel made a blunder on that, they didn't completely lock the chip. So, you're basically still lagging 500MHz from its full potential. This cpu doesn't bottleneck a 2080ti on 4K with RT. Only the ddr3 is holding it back.

it's hyperthreading, each core basically telling the system there are 2. you don't get 8 cores but about 30% more performance I think. both amd and Intel cpus do this
