i7 4770 + GTX 1060 - Test In 10 Games

It has been brought to my attention that the CPU frequency is not correctly showed in this video. It's simply a visual bug that was fixed by re-installing MSI Afterburner & RivaTuner software after these benchmarks were recorded. I apologize if this confuses anyone. I missed it while I was recording/editing (cause it was fine in every other software that I used to monitor this computer), so it's too late to fix this now. The CPU speeds are wrongly displayed in the Rivatuner overlay in this video. The CPU boosts up to 3.90GHz like it should.

i7-4770 is a different socket compared to i5-3570, you will need to change your motherboard as well. You either have to upgrade to i7-3770, or do a bit higher upgrade, pay a bit extra and get the following hardware: i3-10100F, LGA 1200 Motherboard (any. cheapest one will work too. If u have extra cash, buy a B560 motherboard) and DDR4 (2x8GB) RAM. i5-3570 is LGA 1155 socket. It supports 2nd and 3rd gen processors. i7-4770 is 4th gen, different socket. But the difference between i7-3770 and i7-4770 is not too big, so i7-3770 should be enough. But if u want something even better than that, u should really consider one of the biggest value budget processors (i3-10100F).

Yes. It will be as easy as taking yours out and putting an i7-4770 in, no updates needed of any kind.

I'm not familiar with FiveM, if it's a GTA5 mod, then it should, since it runs GTA5 really well. As for Helldivers, I haven't played it so idk. Your best bet is to look up others benchmarks and see if anyone has tested this GPU in Helldivers.

I was looking at that motherboard today, u mean Z97M Pro4? Not H97M Pro4. It's a good board, I suggest getting a K processor instead so that u can overclock it. It's a bit of a waste to have such a capable board and not use its potential.

Hey, im thinking about buying a 32 gb RAM, i7-4770 3.4ghz, with a gtx 1060. Will it run smoothly big games while i have other games like roblox and gta 5 downloaded at the same time? And will my pc get hot fast if i play gta 5???

You need to be more specific with your questions. There's no way I can answer any of your questions like this. "Will it run smoothly big games while i have other games like roblox and gta 5 downloaded at the same time?" - Depends on the storage drive, CPU, RAM and the game. "And will my pc get hot fast if i play gta 5???" - I don't know what temperature is hot for you and how fast is fast for you. This will depend on the in-game settings and the GPU's cooling. GPU Temp: anything at or above 80c is bad (at 100% stress). Hot Spot: anything at or above 90 is bad (at 100% stress). CPU Temp: anything at or above 85 is bad (at 100% stress).

i5 3570 + RX 580 8GB is very GPU oriented, the GPU is too strong for the CPU. i7 4790 + GTX 1060 6GB is too CPU oriented, the CPU is too strong for the GPU. But i7 4790 & GTX 1060 6GB is a much better choice. The computer functions much better when the CPU is the dominant component in it. You're on a more modern platform, you'll just be better off in the future like this.

lol... I just noticed that. It doesn't seem to be boosting up to 3.90GHz. I checked my other benchmarks, other i7-4770's are boosting fine. Turbo is enabled in the BIOS and motherboard is fine. Might be that the Rivatuner software isn't displaying the speeds correctly. I know that this exact thing was happening to the i7-2600K that I had, it was either not boosting, or not showing the boost frequencies. It's just weird, idk what to say, the performance is the same as the other i7-4770's that I purchased with this, the temps are the same and motherboards are the same. This CPU that I used in these benchmarks showed the same results as any other one that I bought along with this, so I think it's a display error on the software side, but I still have this CPU, I'll see if I can find a reason why it's not showing the turbo boost speeds. 3392 is a default (3.4GHz) speed with no turbo. It should be boosting up to 3691 MHz and occasionally hitting its rated max turbo speeds, or at least it's suppose to show that.

So I went back to this and checked it. The core speeds were fine in the BIOS, Task Manager and in HWMonitor, it was simply a MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner related issue. I reinstalled it and it showed the real speeds. It feels really bad to notice the visual bug now, but as long as I managed to confirm that it's simply visual and everything was and is fine, I guess it's not too bad. But it's a huge mistake on my part to not notice it. I was monitoring the speed and temps on another monitor using HWMonitor cause it's always more accurate, but I didn't pay attention to the display that was being recorded 'cause it clearly didn't show the boost speeds. Thank you for pointing this out. I'll pay more attention to this in the future.

Is amd a12-9800 better cpu than i7 4770? with gtx 1050 2gb

A12-9800 is not something I've worked with before. I know i7-4770 is better, but idk by how much. That GPU is irrelevant if we're trying to decide which CPU is better 'cause GTX 1050 is not strong enough to be bottlenecked by any of these 2 CPUs, they both are much stronger than what this GPU needs. Also, A12-9800 is an AM4 CPU. You can upgrade that to 5950X or 5800X3D. These 2 CPUs are extremely strong even if you upgrade years later, it's not something we can ignore if we're comparing stuff. While the i7-4770 can't really be upgraded much further, maybe 4790K, but that will barely do anything. Take future upgrades into consideration. At this very moment, i7-4770 is better. If you wanna upgrade in the future, A12-9800 is better 'cause it works on AM4 motherboards and those AM4 motherboards will let you install really powerful CPUs in them in the future.
