IAF’S LCA Tejas proves its mettle, ‘intercepts’ Typhoon, Rafale of Germany, Spain and France

Indian Air Force’s (IAF) indigenous fighter aircraft LCA Tejas proved his mettle by ‘intercepting’ the Eurofighter Typhoon and Rafale aircraft of the German, Spanish and French Air Forces ahead of welcoming them for the multinational exercise Tarang Shakti in Tamil Nadu’s Sulur. While the Indian LCA Tejas was being flown by Air Force Vice Chief Air Marshal AP Singh, the German plane was being flown by German Air Force chief, according to Indian Air Force.

It won't happen because the engine are from U.S.A in Tejas and they can Stop the supply of them if they want to 2nd they can also shut the engine dawn just like they did in a parade if I remember a Tejas crash happened due to engine failure........ Just dig some and you will find the details what happened, there is a reason why safron engine are being considered from France ..... It's a long game I won't spare u the full details it won't go into production unless a different engine is considered.😊

@@AshishSharma-mo9fc Changing Engine is not easy at this time. We will have to make changes to the structure of aircraft to fit new engine, to the power management system and other avionics. It would push the the rollout and mass production by several years. We can't afford that.

Their delivery date postponed from feb to march to August to now november. 2 months delay happened just because of "mismanagement" Their mark 2 roll-out schedule changed for many years. And they said they have internal budget, didn't depending on govt. Moment they miss the deadline they started blaming govt, private sector, airforce , weather, earthquake everything.

The only issue is with the delta wing design. Delta wing sure is cheaper, easy to maintain, provides much more payload capacity and way better manuverability due to its small size but the elephant in the room is stability. If in a 1v1 dogfight, the wings get damaged, it will lose its stability. Other than that, its an excellent aircraft. Going indigenous is far more important than wasting billions on importing foreign planes

At least now itself IAF believes LCA Tejas. There is lot of conspiracy going around LCA tejas because its is a Desi product. Western countries doesn't want India to be self realization of this technology and they want India to be a arms importer to the end of the world. That,s why US is delaying the supply of engine and many western medias targeting LCA tejas capabilities. In India many people are targeting HAL capabilities. They are all done to wrap up Tejas project. Wherever india is trying to sell tejas western countries interfere to stop selling them.

'Intercepts' is it right word ? I think you guys were trying to say that Tejas Escorts Typhoon and Rafael to Sulur Airbase as a Welcome gesture because Typhoon was flown by the German Air Force Chief , Correct me if I understand it wrong.

nope it was a routine intercept ...which means Tejas detected and tracked the Typhoon before blipping customary warning of airspace breach. It was a real time simulation of a real world scenario of what an interceptor needs to do with an incoming boggie.

Because Tractor is perfect fit for fighter aircraft purpose. While a Pushback tug is more better for heavier planes like transport aircraft or bigger civilian aircraft. Powerful tractor can fulfill all the needs for fighter planes in a cheaper, more readily available manner, can can be deployed in larger numbers for a variety of jobs, no specialized spare parts needed & in case of emergency can be used off runway in dirt environment on a airfield. So its more versatile. When, for our low economy and large military needs, we are struggling for cash, no need to get a golden gun, when steel gun does the job just as well. Maybe when are a $10 trillion plus we can, we have spur a little, standardize stuff, till then we have better capital acquisition to work on in queue.

This is an aircraft with a foreign engine with no Indian manufacturing capability which makes the IAF totally dependent of foreign nations that may not have our interests in mind. Good domestic design capabilities, but absent an engine manufacturing capability IAF will always be at a disadvantage. The rate of manufacture is so low that it will ensure the IAF will be a flying museum for decades to come.

What caused them the European fighters to be detected they’re all 4.5+ gen fighters quite capable and very proven .. Basically more details of what the achievement was !! BAs intercept kiya aur Hume 1 word pe video and music daalke.. mission accomplished level pe video banya ! Come on .. there is a lot of good work that has been but more needs done ! .. no 2 ways about the success so far but let’s not be too gung ho .. focus on reality!
