Riding this little train through the terrifyingly empty purple-and-black carpeted basement of this airport is the closest to purgatory I’ve ever been WHY would they choose those colors

These were used in a scene of the 1976 movie Futureworld when the tourists are going to the resort. The carpet and paint may have been changed since then.

Drove out of my way to film this last year. This thing rides like crap but it is a very interesting system. The motor sounds are heavenly.

I ended up on this video bc I spent a night there coming off an international flight and I couldn’t go back planeside until morning… there was nowhere comfortable to sleep upstairs so I wandered down here and the lights were off but the music was still blaring and it honestly feels like a fever dream now

This is only 1 of 2 wedway people movers to be built outside of a Disney park. The other one was built in the ‘90s under the capitol building in Washington D.C. That one uses the exact same train cars found in this video and the same Linear Induction Motor technology

Original one was installed just after the airport was opened in 1968 or there about. This is the newer version of the original. I don't know the time frame when this was installed. I want to say sometime in the 1990's. The tram quits operation around midnight and does not restart until around 6:00 am. I found that out on a layover back in 2006. Ken
