What's awesome about this version is that we've all seen Iam sing the hell out of this song, so when he wasnt able to sing we all excepted it. It's also what we all thought was gonna happen at the audition. It also mirrors the James Blunt version. He made the world cry all over again.

I have so much respect for James Blunt being a compassionate person. The performance was beautiful. Did you see Jelly Roll sitting by Lillie and he put his arm around her when Iam lost it. His dad usually harmonized w him… so I think you’re right about a mixture of emotions.

This was such an intense emotional experience for all..most for the performers. James wrote this song for his Dad that was going through dialysis. His Dad is still fighting the fight.. Iam's did not win the battle. 😢 James could understood completely what Iam was looked with the sadness with this song that brought it fpull circle in a few short months after his Dad passing just 2 months before we it all began. We Love you Iam!

And if ever a woman wants to understand what it really is to be a man just watch this song and feel how hard it is for us. It's fun to wear your dad's shoes when you're a kid, but man, do they weigh heavy when you're an adult... My dad passed away from complications of Polycystic Kidney Disease, I can totally relate to Iam and Jame Blunt. Everytime I hear this song, I break down in tears. Okay I'm crying again. I so resonate his hurt. Daddy's girl I was. Passed from his suffering lung cancer for 10 years. last I saw my dad when I do my regular visit everyday. Before Iam, I didn't even know that there were music reactors. I fell in love with Iam's music, and I love watching you two. That intro had me tearing up before the song even started. This whole performance is as heartbreaking as it is beautiful. They are two men on that stage who have lost their dads and the support James Blunt offers Iam is so genuine. Even though James' dad survived I truly believe that both of their fathers were on the stage that night. Also props to Jelly Roll for supporting Iam's mom in the audience.
