I’m impressed how much video you got for this project. Working alone already feels so slow (personally), but thinking about videoing it is even more time consuming. Good job man, your channel will pay off

definitely feels slow when working alone! I made it a priority to film this job day to day. But it definitely was tough at times

If I understood correctly it sounds like you still turned a profit, just not anywhere close to what you were expecting considering all the work you put into it and then the weather related setbacks too. The project came out beautiful and you should be proud of your work! I also just wanted to mention that I watched a bunch of your videos and they were invaluable to me in completing my own paver patio project this year (started with excavation last year and just got done about two weeks ago laying the pavers and doing the jointing sand. The rain kept delaying me too with finalizing everything!) As with any mistake in life, they serve as learning opportunities. I hope that your future endeavors treat you a little better, keep up the fantastic work! :)

Definitely not disappointed with the end result of the project, so I’m happy 👍. Glad the videos have helped out!

INCREDIBLE JOB! I hope this opens more significant opportunities with clients that have deeper pockets that will genuinely appreciate your craftsmanship & professionalism. Here's to a brighter future!

And in the meantime, you're not able to squeeze in the quicker cash flow jobs. You're still young and can get up and down fairly easily but take it from a boomer that those days get away from you sooner than later. Great channel and we need more ball busters like you out there!

Absolutely! I appreciate that!

Lots of rain can make large projects get out of hand in a hurry.

Ohh yeah. And it got out of hand from day one on this one

Can't imagine that you did this alone. Which jointing sand do you use for permeable bases? Does the choice of sand change if you don't use those pads (they are super costly) ?
@iamahardscaper Жыл бұрын
had a part timer at times. The jointing compound we used here is called Azpects EasyJoint. With the pads we are okay with using polymeric sand or a semi-permeable jointing compound.

It stings about the losses, but overall the project looks great! Good portfolio piece! By the way, I know there is a lot of joking around about value on the NOFH podcast, but last episode honestly was a ton of value. I know many hardscapers are hesitant to reveal numbers, but it was great hearing how everyone approaches pricing the same job. The whole episode was Caleb's Corner!

Nice job what, part of the country are you in? I find myself going crazy without good help these days. I don't think I could do that all on my own even with 2 months. Thanks so much for sharing

Too short of a season for you guys We work year round in Tennessee with almost no snow gives us a lot more time to make up for a situation like that. But I feel your pain.

yeah I'm sometimes jealous of the weather you guys get!

You should put an expiration on your projects for quotes, I don't honor prices after a year.
@iamahardscaper Жыл бұрын
I do, but when we revisited the original design and took out those walls I updated the quote to reflect that without any notes to look on as to why I initially included them.
