For those wondering what it says between the verses, it says in Japanese: “何かが消えてしまったという感覚だけが、目覚めてからも長く残る。” which roughly translates to: “This feeling that something had vanished, it is the only feeling that stays with me for a long time even after I wake up.” Jon quoted this from a Japanese animated film ‘your name (Kimi no nawa)’, which, in Japan, was probably one of the most watched movies of 2016. Also, he used some audio clips from the same movie in one of his birthday videos (I believe it was 365x: 23) as well but I believe those were taken from a different part of the movie. Absolutely in love with the song btw, nice to see him trying something a little different with the MV :)

Who else got flashbacks to the "Crash" music video? I feel like it tells a similair story about a man sort of "escaping" his room (which may be equivilant to escaping reality, given he sings "Thoughts in my head," "In my mind," and "Hypothetical thinking"). I think it draws a lot of parallels between the two, however, I feel like this video is somehow more uplifting and positive, which may be attributed to the colourful scenery, compared to the emptiness and abandoned city-environment from the "Crash" video. Let me know what you think!
@kaydj61595 жыл бұрын
It reminded me a little bit of crash because of the armchair... I think the colours symbolize the sunrise and that he just woke up from his dream in his bed. He has problems understanding reality. He doesn't know if it was a dream or not. That's why he's trying to realize who he is or what reality is in the shadow, cause they are kinda projector as well. Compared to the crash music video, projector has no highs except for the stairs. When he goes outside, i thought he would fall and die (the Game of Thrones way), but everything was fine. This could symbolize, that there's no pressure for eden anymore and no expectations by his fans or himself, that could destroy him like in vertigo, because he went home or at least he woke up at his home and it is so empty. Maybe that's the way he's feeling, empty. It almost seems like he's in heaven, when he goes outside, like he's in a cloud or something like that. “And you will find me where/when (idk?) the sea poors into the stars. I'll get there someday.“ He's at a point where he understands his dreams and the wave. That's why his style kinda changes. But I don't really think everything's perfect in the song. Here he is just confused, because he lost something that was beautiful and seemed to be so real. When vertigo is the realisation of something not being real, like in a dream shortly before you wake up and projector the “i woke up now and forgot mostly everything“ phase, we shouldn't find connections of those worlds in detail like i just did, idk. The birds are just chilling and not doing anything but in the shadow they are flying together. Maybe that shows that projector don't have to show the reality. The birds-shadow could show us how he remembers his dream, but in reality there wasn't anything. The birds symbolize his memories, that there was somebody or wait? Didn't he sing in vertigo something like “maybe in our next life“?? He definitly said something about “half-lives“, so... yeah. Maybe the birds are his dream/reality in a next life, a better life. I think the song is a fusion of “Your Name“ and “Maniac“. The background sound and the aesthetic reminded me a lot of Maniac. In Maniac the main characters have to understand and face reality as well. He looks back, when he's outside, like there was somebody just like in Your Name. I could move on but I'm tired, so bye and sorry for my bad english language skills.

Kay DJ that's very interesting, definitely a lot more elaborate than my analysis. In forever//over he sings "there are no ends just grays and half-lives. It's alright" I think this line means that nothing truly disappears, there will always be something left, and that's alright. Kinda like the way you can remember bits and pieces of your dreams

i feel like there is a connection to 909. Namely, it was the synth-y percussion sample that is in both songs. in 909 it came in around 2:02, in this song it comes in around 2:14. This prompted me to compare, and I feel noticed a lot of juxtaposition. Visually- 909 is has visual themes of nature, human touch and emotion, the state of living, etc. It also has out favourite- a similar chair lmao. It also has a bird, and two butterflies, which contrasts the two birds in this vid- I can't quite figure out how they relate though. What definitely does juxtapose that of the 909 vid is the set- instead of a run down apartment and nature and earth we get this artificial- colourful apartment thing, and V O I D. Lyrically, 909 has references to going somewhere, someone taking grasp, and 'forever' with said person. Projector- references to slipping away, disappearing, lightyears without person, seconds away from them. Idk I haven't gotten deep in the analysis, but I just wanted to point a few things out, and maybe voice what some bystanders scrolling also thought about too.

To me this song makes me feel the wonder of love. How everything in reality is so loosely sown together. How our minds are so confusing yet beautiful. The room/house is reality. The mind is the vacuum outside of the house. Often we let our reality take precedence over our mind. We cross ourselves off from exploring our minds. Being honest with ourselves, our thoughts, our feelings. Once we do we find out how confusing it all is. How its not just our minds that are confusing but our reality. In the movie "your name" theres this constant theme, time. Almost like time is the antagonist of the film. I feel like our reality is the physical plane we live in and time is the composer of this plane. We are in search of that someone. That love we found. But heat death only seconds away, it dont matter now. It gives this sensation that we dont have anymore time. In our minds these feelings are still real. But in reality theyre no where to be found. Its like this word Amorphous Solid. A solid that lacks long-ranged structure. Something you know is there but you cant quite define it. Your in search of it, but time is calling you back to reality. Everything around us is an Amorphous solid, its a wonder, its confusing yet exciting, fearful yet reassuring. It all revolves around love.

My first time hearing Eden was on Twitch. A KZbinr names Smii7y played it for his stream outro and said “y’all wanna cry?” Put a sad Pepe and played “Wake Up”. Bruh it was like stepping into a new world. Eden changed my life. Reply to me with your first EDEN song and how it made you feel. I wanna see how people first heard of him.

@@robsorgdrager8477 Said it yourself, you do know. It's like being a "man". I can't remember the last time I saw a boy cry without shame. It's like it's a crime or something. Feelings and thoughts are not something people know how to share in my limited experience. I guess it's hard to find how, and harder for some than others :/ I feel scared to talk to my family and I'm relatively quite young. They just seem like the kind of people you trust who you should talk to. I just don't know how. So I don't. I just blank them. I won't pretend to have a clue what it's like not to be normal but I gotta say feelings are never easy to share, even for those who can, so many don't. Guess you were forced straight in with no say. fallin's easy, but it only brings you down

If that feeling had a price Then I would gladly pay it Over and over and over til I’m broke And if you held me for ransom I’d love it, I’d never want to go home But all this hypothetical thinking Is digging me down And maybe I was seconds away But it doesn’t matter now.. I felt that. 🌸
