People buy toddlers way more toys that the kid will remember. Babies love attention. Mommy deserves presents. A healthy happy mommy is the most important gift to give a baby. I remember seeing my mom stressed growing up and that, as a kid, made me sad. Seeing mommy happy makes kids happy.

I completely agree with this comment. A lot of them times you hear people say that once you have a kid, the parents don't need anything anymore, everything goes to the baby. I don't completely agree with that though, because like you said, kids seeing mommy and daddy happy, makes them happy! :)

The thing is tho, I feel like in more community based cultures, its very common for grandparents to help raise their grandchildren too. I know its especially a thing in asian cultures, I remember being looked after by my grandparents and so did all my cousins and I don't think it's a bad thing! If anything it made me closer to them despite the fact they don't speak English and that I can speak canto to a certain level 😆

Yes! I am Hispanic and my grandma helped my mom a lot, I am so glad she did. I will forever cherish being able to witness so many beautiful moments with her like watching her cook tortillas, water her plants, teach me how to tie my shoes and ride a bike, & see how she interacted with her parents (My great grandparents) daily because they lived next to her. My great grandparents have passed and my grandma has heart issues now, she can’t do everything she used to, but again I cherish all the lovely times I had with her growing up and now! ❤️. I’m also the one out of my siblings who knows the most Spanish lol because I spent the most time there when I was younger. So it’s def a great thing to have that help from parents.

I'm African, we have the same culture in some countries. For example in mine, one of the grandmas (either dad's mom or mom's mom, though usually mom's mom) come to the new parent's house and stays with them for a month or at least until the new mom has gotten a hang of it. She helps with the baby and sometimes cooking too. But cooking not so much as most houses have handmaids to help. My mom couldn't do it with my sister cos she couldn't take a lot of time off of work, but she went for a few days just to help out and to pass on knowledge + tips and tricks about taking care of a newborn. ❤

I'm a broke college student with no interest in being a mom yet, but I adore watching you and Leo and Dove. Something about your birth experience and new mom experience have been eye opening to me. It made me really respect my mom more because she went through similar things to you when I was born.

people don’t realize how hard child rearing is, especially for women. that’s why reproductive rights are so important: a lot of people don’t have a village or a lot of other things to support a new life. I’m glad your talking about this so openly.

Lol the fried rice in the yogurt cup :D even tho I´m not Asian, I´m used to saving plastic packaging like that. I´m German and my family always saves it to put other food into it. The baby is so adorable!! Congratulations 🎈 my advice is that the bottle needs to be shaken more so it can prevent constipation otherwise the powder will all just float and it won’t blend with the water completely. Baby’s also like leg massages. I have a two month old and he loves it. Anyway, she’s the cutest!! I almost cried when I seen her crying. 💕
