I wish I could take your advice Lucid but I can’t I am trans female so my body isn’t right I need to get it to match my mentally. So my money will have to go to getting hormones for a feminine body and pu$$ in bottom surgery Edit: I have been disconnected from social media for so long and still barely use it.

To be honest… I’ve never hated myself because of the way I look. I’ve been called ugly, fat and all that. But I realize that just because there is somebody prettier, doesn’t mean that I am ugly. I’ve also been called pretty, hot and so on but none of it matters. I am a person. I am not “pretty, hot, ugly, fat”. I am a fucking person. I think it’s more important to focus on the connections I make and what I learn and achieve. The most beautiful thing that is the most attractive to me is having a good social circle and goals. I have posted in bikinis and completely covered up. In sexy dresses and in winter jackets. And the likes? They are the same every time. Because most of the people liking know me. Social media is for texting, sharing with friends and INTERACTING. Not for comparing and following people you don’t know. How many strangers do you follow for their content versus for their looks? Looks get boring eventually.

@mlem1042
@mlem1042 2 жыл бұрын
@@sidvacant9382 I'm sorry that happened. Guys in my class used to slap my butt all the time. Once I was wearing a strapless overall and this one dude pulled down my top. I was not wearing a bra because it was ruffly so it wasn't noticeable. It pissed me the fuck off anytime dudes would do anything similar but I do realize that it is not my fault. It is theirs. It made me uncomfortable so I snapped and he hasn't done it again as far as I know. Any time I'd kneel down, they'd also try and stand in front of me with their crotches forward and they'd put their hands on my head so it looked like I was getting down to give them a blow job. I have many other stories of dudes being creepy but the one thing I learnt is that you should not fear being confident. Guys don't want you to be confident because if you are, it'll get to a point where you stop taking their shit. They want you to remain small, soft-spoken and submissive. Don't give in. Being confident is never a bad thing and you should not fear it. It took me a lot of harassment to learn how to stand my ground. The only thing I'd change about it is that I wish I realized sooner.

As a member of that 12% of your fanbase, it’s extremely sad to see my girlfriends who are all so beautiful and amazing seeing themselves as inadequate and unworthy. It’s devastating seeing the impact that instagram and tiktok have caused on so many girls’ mental healths. It’s taken me years to finally get to a place where I feel comfortable and confident and I don’t use facetune or makeup or anything artificial to enhance my beauty unless it’s for myself and no one else. It shouldnt take that long and should be something that shouldnt take effort. Even now i have to remind myself every once in a while that i’m adequate and the girls on instagram arent realistic depictions of beauty. If another girl is reading this, you are beautiful and wonderful and don’t let anyone else make you think any less. You dont need to hand over your money, mental health, or physical health for beauty.

To add onto what you've said; Alot of people that are addicted to social media and validation from others are products of emotional neglect, instability, and plain toxic situations that stem from childhood. To fill the void that their parents left by ignoring their emotional needs or whatever traumas they may have endured they turn to other people for love and validation without realizing that everything they want from others needs to first come from within.

A wise guy called MrCraftastic once told me, "it is our perfect imperfections that make us individually perfect". Think of it as a jigsaw puzzle. If all pieces were perfect squares they would easily sit next to one another, but nothing would truly hold them together. However in a real puzzle, not all pieces compliment one another, but when there is a true connection, the pieces are inseparable. Non of us is really perfect folks. But when we truly embrace that, we can go ahead and make perfect bonds with people we care about. P.S. Give yourselves a pat in the back cause yall are fine af

The best thing I did on Instagram was unfollowing every model, and start posting casually again. I used to post pics of what made me look the most "fuckable," and now I just post photo dumps of pictures that make me happy and are filled with good memories. That is the sole PURPOSE of photos--to capture sweet memories, not to show a smoke and mirrors effect of the perfect life. Thanks for the vid! Good shit. More young people need to hear this.

But when you scroll down their Insta profile and see what they post, I get very sad. It shows that they are so insecure about their bodies. But I never dare to talk to them about it, because they don't realize it themselves. and i don't think i am able to explain that to them. thank you for phrasing it so well. This is so true. As a younger girl I used to be obsessed with Instagram. I used to put so much effort in to getting followers, likes. I used to wake up at 4 in the morning and spend hours everyday before college putting makeup on just to look like my Instagram pictures. Now I’m 24 and prefer to keep my social media private. Start looking in the mirror and telling yourself you love yourself. Say shit like, "I know I don't feel this, but I love myself. I know I feel ugly, but I love myself. I know this seems like bullshit but I love myself." And say that over and over until it breaks you into tears, then say "I love you" straight into your eyes as many times as you can. Then spend a few minutes EVERY DAY doing essentially the same thing... until you can smile at yourself in the mirror when you see yourself and FEEL worthwhile and loved. It may seem silly or stupid, and you may feel ridiculous or worse, but it's WORTH YOUR TIME and has the capacity of altering your entire life.

This. As a woman, I spent a lot of my younger years completely engulfed in the thrill of social media hierarchy. It was a constant comparison between myself and everyone else, friend or foe. At the end of my 8th grade year of school, I did something drastic. I completely shaved my head. After years of growing and dyeing my hair, I decided it was something I didn't need. I spent a lot of time soul searching, which is an odd thing to do as a 13 year old, but it was much needed and well appreciated. However, I was soon sucked back into the world of unattainable beauty standards. I started buying makeup. I started dyeing my hair again. I spent too much money on clothes just to have anyone notice me and the effort I put into myself. After a long first two years of high school, while also struggling with a drug addiction, I did it again. I shaved my head. I took off the makeup. I cut out the substances. I switched schools... 4 times. I dropped out briefly. I deleted my social media apps. I spent my time focused on my education and my work (I worked 5 days a week and went to school on Th/F). I met one of my best friends at that last school. He is really grounded and you remind me a lot of him. He's raw, has no time for bullshit, and enjoys himself for who he is, even if others can't. I, to this day, won't wear makeup. I own it for if/when going out, but that happens so rarely nowadays, I should probably just throw it all away. I do still spend money on clothes, some for show, but mostly for work. I am a bit of a gremlin and should probably do more to take care of myself (for my own health and longevity), but we're making progress. Thank you for being the stand in big brother I never had. ❤

Bro I wish I could sit down and have a convo with Lucid hes so intelligent and such an insightful dude. Its like he's always speaking from the realest part of his heart and I love it. I dont use social media much for the very reasons he talks about in this video. It was all so overwhelming I avoided it a lot rather than engaging in it because it made me have so many complicated feelings about myself and my friends. He definitely hit the mark on women comparing themselves to each other; its why so many of my friendships with other women ended. Us (my previous friends and I) comparing each other to ourselves not only made us more insecure about our own bodies but it also made us hate each other for the aspects of each other that we became jealous of. I feel bad a lot because I wasn't as impacted by social media and by that I mean I didn't grow up glued to it and concerned about it so I didn't compare myself to them like they did to me and it often caused MORE problems because then it became the case of, "Well I'm comparing myself to her but she doesn't compare herself to me, she must think she's better than me," like it was an attack I didn't feel insecure around my own friends. In reality my sense of self worth just wasn't dependent on feeling like I was just as good or better/prettier/hotter/whatever than they were. Its a horrible cycle that literally rips friendships apart. To this day there's a friend of mine who does nothing but compare us. I try to break her from the cycle and remind her we're both equals but its like its so engrained into her sense of self worth that nothing will help it and it makes me sad. We've been friends for about a decade and everything is a competition for no reason. She will grasp at literally anything to make herself somehow higher or better than me for no reason. An example for anyone whos curious; we both got brand new TV's at about the same time, almost the exact same TV no less. I was super excited for both of us cause my old one had died and she just got a new one as a present. "Yay we can play video games together again!" Was my first thought, but instead of just being happy for both of us she immediately tried to convince me hers was bigger and mine was smaller when they're the exact same size TV. I showed her the box that has it in big giant letters and she said to me, "They must've put a smaller TV in the bigger box." WHAT THE FU ??? OK. Could not actually believe my ears so I broke out a TAPE MEASURE and proved they're exactly the same size TV. When she finally realized she ran out of options and was wrong, she pulled the brand card instead. "Well mine is a Samsung." So I went online - and grabbed the boxes again - and showed her the specs which are the exact same as well, the only difference is mine has a Roku installed and was cheaper priced, just to show her and she serisouly said to me "Mine must be better somehow because mine cost more money than yours," and I was hoping this would wake her up to the fact that yeah, price doesnt mean anything. Whoever bought yours paid $300 extra for this brand name on the front rather than grabbing something off brand that was just as good, but instead she used it to reinforce her idea that my TV, with the same exact model and serial number on the box BTW, was somehow placed in the wrong box and shipped to Walmart with the rest of the TV's that were all correctly boxed and labeled *SIGH* People who live in a cycle like this unfortunately dont always realize how badly it impacts them and their relationships. It can literally make them delusional wit a capital D. They end up giving more of a shit about material bullshit than the people they care about or the situation they're in. Like this example I gave: at the end of the day it doesnt fucking matter who has what TV. We both are lucky we have people who love us and are generous enough to gift us such nice things and we shouldn't argue over whos is better because the answer is neither. They're just different. Bro i love this video because Ive been watching all my friends exist like this for years and it makes me bonkers crazy because nobody stops to appreciate what they already have or the people around them

Thank you so much for this video Lucid. Often times when I see videos with men addressing women I am always hesitant because although I am sure some of them have good intentions they execute their main idea horribly. The words the use, the hypotheticals they create, the comparisons, their tone, it makes the video seem as if it was made to bash, reveal all the faults about women in this society and ultimately provide no answers. I felt emotional when watching this video because it felt as if you really do care and what to see us women love and respect ourselves more. That’s a lovely message and I love your warm energy behind it. But unfortunately, it is vastly harder to move through the world when you are objectively ‘unnattractive’. Even if you see yourself as beautiful, if society doesn’t, then not as many people will want to date you, you have a lower chance of getting (some) jobs, people are not as kind, etc. Sometimes getting work done is not about feeling better about ones self on the inside, but is about getting opportunities that would otherwise be off limits in the real world. It’s sickening, but sadly true.
@juanjuan5698
@juanjuan5698 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is the sickening part of our human nature. And this issue is, it will always be around whether we like it or not as it is our survivalist nature to want to create offspring with those we deem healthy for the continual of our race. I feel like Alex’s message is that although society beats the average person down (especially woman), with crazy expectations just to be accepted and given opportunities, Happiness does not need to come from the expectations of others, but even in the midst of the cruelty of society you can find happiness in yourself without having the toxicity of comparison. I am just a 17 year old guy, and if what I wrote sounded retarded, well it is what it is. On a serious note, this is just my perspective and I am not a female so I truly have no idea what life is like on your side, but I do know us guys also often have a lot of expectations put on us. I wish you the very best!

okay why would you want to date people if they find you unnattractive and dont appreciate you for outward beauty as much as your inward beauty (which is the most important). The point isn't about how people view you, it's about how you view yourself. Forget about the rest of the world and own who you are. Why would you want a job that will belittle you because of "objective beauty." You're viewing this all wrong and I hope that you can be more optimistic here despite what the world's agenda is.

Wearing modest clothing breaks me away from the chains of society. This way people can judge me for my personality and my intelligence, and not by my body, my breasts, my ass. Wearing revealing clothes isn’t freeing. It’s a lie, instead your allowing society to use you and ridicule you. I know because I’ve always been that woman. I’ve fell into depression because of it. Ladies, please, don’t allow yourself to be chained up by society’s standards. They’re always changing. Do not fall in love with the unattainable. Only fall in love with your true authentic self. If you do, then… you have found true success.

Or you just found what works for you. Don’t invalid what someone else finds freeing bc guess what? Modest woman get sexualize everyday bc it has nothing to do with the clothing n everything to do with the fucked up minds of most males. I’m super skinny n wear skin tight, cropped clothing bc I’m comfortable in my skin now. Has nothing to do with societies standards bc your right it’s changing, & I get judged every day but idc😂bc I’m dressing for my pleasure. So when I look in the mirror I’m like “ damn I look good” that’s very freeing to me. I use to be depressed n I dressed in very modest clothing bc I was insecure about my body. That was the worst thing in the world bc I ONLY DID IT bc I was insecure. My point is, everyone is different n expresses their confidence in different ways. Also if your only changing the way you dress so that people judge you differently isn’t that in fact conforming to societal standards? Bc if people r voicing that they “respect” modest woman more & that’s the reason you change, then you did exactly what you told others not to do… conforming to the “chains of society” just on the opposite side.
@Omar-02
@Omar-02 2 жыл бұрын
@@localjunckieasmr9207 ofc your dressing for your pleasure because your a slave for your desire. Women have the desire to show off their body and beautify themselves it’s within the nature of a women. And no dressing modestly is definitely not conforming to societal standard and in fact it’s the exact opposite (saying it’s in the opposite side makes absolutely no sense in terms of strengthening your point). It takes heart for a women to dress modestly. Also Who would judge you for the revealing way you dress other than people within your family? Far as I’m concerned I doubt you would get judged at all because I’m sure the men that are drowned by porn would enjoy glancing at you and that may make you feel like a confident “empowered women”. Side note, millions of women around the world hide their body and dress in modesty and have that blessing because they do it for the sake of the lord. Lord of the worlds. Owner of majesty and honour. The most merciful. Because those special women BELIEVE in a hereafter and they believe something better in the next life is to come, and they believe dressing in such ways can displease the king of the worlds so they choose NOT to be a slave for their desire. Yet western women claim “they’re enslaved” “they aren’t free” “they are forced” but you don’t realize they do this willingly alhamdulilah.

@@Omar-02 dude you killed it once you said it’s in the nature of woman….y’all always talk about how woman should be and the natrual roles of woman and men so if showing off our body is within our nature WHY IS IT A PROBLEM…😂I’m not even reading past that. You have a good day

Hi, part of that 12%. I don’t share things with people normally but I came across your video and had to watch it. I at first was like, ‘he’s another one of those guys to tell me I don’t need makeup’ but I watched it and I am blown away. I am 15 right now and during seventh the grade my mental health took a turn for the worst. My “friends” at the time were extremely toxic and didn’t understand my anxiety. I am heavily medicated for anxiety and other mental shit. I nearly took my own life several times that year by a combination of what others and myself thought about me. I am so happy to be in this life where us women can be respected and understood more. Not all the time, but you guys are more of gentlemen then men were. I’ve dealt with so much shit that I am not gonna get into, but I just wanted to say thank you and I really appreciate that.

This was true confirmation because I just deleted social media an hour ago because I felt like I needed to for my own sanity and then I see this video pop thinking it was going to put down women just for it to confirm that me deleting social media was the best thing for me! Thank you!

I have been binge watching your yt channel later and I stumble upon this video that i think is sooo important. This message is for both males and mostly females who feel this certain way. I've had an eating disorder for 3 years now beacuse of these pressure i putted on myself for not being "beautifull" enough. Luckly I reacived I'm on my journey to overcome this horrible mental illness but I don't think other people get how awfull and concerning this whole situation trully is. I was hosptalized and almost die of inanition/starvation beacuse of trying to look "perfect". It took me a long time for me to realize the real size of this problem, but it is not impossible. I aint gonna lie, It is hard to overcome this type of situations when everysingle person (even friends and family) surrounding you is trying to fit in modern beauty standards that are not even realistic, but i encourage you to stop being so harsh on yourself and spread this video with other relatives that may be stucked in a similar situation. Please keep loving yourselves unconditionally.

I have watched this young man climb from his measly amount of subscribers to over 800,000... And that is because he has something to offer. A genuine take on the social issues that plague our society. Bravo my man. Keep the truth going and dont be afraid to speak your mind. Listen im 26 and i can tell you alot of young people need to hear this message.

I think eventually there will be a social credit system, with or without removing likes on social media. I feel lucky my algorithm pushes out 3D art more than Instagram models. Thank you for drawing attention to the topics nobody seems to talking about. You have such a great message, can’t believe only 12% of your viewers are female :O

As a young female who does happen to fall into the trap of social media and the unrealistic lifestyle and beauty expectations, this was very helpful and eye-opening. You're absolutely right, it does rely on the algorithm and turns into a game of comparison. Thank you for this!
