I like what Sandra did, that reflective blanket looks so much better up out the way. Shelter is looking great. I wouldn't worry too much about replying to every comment - if less replying means more vids it's a good thing IMO. Keep up the good work and can't wait for your next trip out there.

Mike and Sandra nice video...I would have trimmed those on an angle(30 or 45 degrees) at the outside log so it would have not cut or ripped the tarp, round the top just slightly, but that is JMO.....the extra strength under heavy snow would help the roof. Great video folks....again we have -30c in Thunder Bay today and tonight....cheers Fred

First off thanks for another awesome video. Now this is your shelter, but if you was to bring the tarp down like 6 inches leave it hanging down but tie off to sides. Then you can tuck your plastic in behind it on those side poles you got. That would create a more draft free system. Butyou do this way more than me, so lookng good, keep up great videos.

Vietnamese noodles (not just "Asian"). It's called Phở and is pronounced with a high rising tone (the diacritical mark above the vowel) something like a question mark rising tone in English. E.g. Fuh? I studied Vietnamese (Southern dialect) while in the U.S. Navy. Vietnamese food is very delicious. Wonderful language , although challenging to speak for this Westerner. :) . . . . . . Great job of upgrading your shelter!

Looks like you are ready for winter, what a great shelter! You guys put a lot into it and now you can enjoy the spoils of all your hard work. That Pho looked awesome and on a cold day, nothing better than a hot meal! Will you be sticking with your original fire pit or going with a long fire type? I saw a video not so long ago with a long fire type, there were two lines of rocks running parallel with the shelter, the fire in between. Looked neat and seemed to work really well, less processing of wood too. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing your first night with the new mods!

Sometimes rushing to get things done actually ends up taking more time than doing it properly the first time. If you get ALL of your firewood prepped before you light your tinder and kindling, you won’t be scrambling around so much. Doing a proper fire lay (log cabin or teepee) - before you light anything - instead of just a mound of wood (what I call the “beaver lodge fire” lol) will usually produce much better results. Just my point of view and not a criticism

No worries michael, I always appreciate feedback. We do have a wood shelter that we built so I can easily access dry wood if I need it. I kind of wanted to test to see if a couple of fat wood sticks and the evergreen branches together would be a viable way to start a fire even when the branches were a bit wet. Turns out it "kinda" worked 😄. Next time I'll be a bit less lazy and get some good kindling.
