Question... i know you probably wont answer this but worth a shot... I love my chucks, wear them all the time. Since nike took over and shipped production overseas, quality has took a dump. Ive noticed my 'pre nike' chucks have lasted so much longer. That being said, still love my chucks. I wear them when I skydive so they go through a lot of abuse. The rubber sole is starting to pull away from the rubber wall on the outside quite badly. Ive been informed 'shoe goo' works, but i was looking for something more permanent. Maybe sewing the two back together with leather or rubber cord? You probably wont see this, and probably wont respond even if you do see it. Worth a shot though

Love your style tips! I like the bar laces on my Vans Old Skools. Instead of tying the laces and tucking them in behind the tongue, I use lace locks and cut them off - it's just a little more comfortable than having them bunched up inside & still looks clean & minimalistic. Only thing is you gotta leave em a little loose so you can slip them on.

I liked this video just because you used the word "aglet". I have a tartan plaid pair I laced the usual way because the shoes are busy enough. The first thing I do though, is I always start my first step down by the toe of the shoe by going through the grommets from underneath so the very first bar is "under" the fabric that contains the holes rather than putting the lace through the holes from the top so the bar is "over" the fabric. My solid black pair is bar laced like you show because my laces have the words "Chicago Cubs" printed on them and it makes it easier to read them. Bar lacing does use up the laces faster, so you may want to buy longer ones if you plan on going all the way to the top.

I lace them over under till the 2nd or 3rd hole from the top and lace them twice through each of the top 2 last holes so u can pull them tight yet not have to actually tie them.
