its raw and real and ugly and awe-inspiring. Mr Ries reminds me so much of Peter and Paul. They told the story of their lives in the bible the same way. They completely revealed ALL the parts of their hearts, and because of that so many have come to know who God truly was and is because they too proclaimed of the change in their hearts. After listening to Ryan I don't understand how any one can put anything before God in there walk of life. I was 17 yrs old when I ask Christ to come into my life. The best decision I ever made. GOD is my holy father &director of my daily walk. I am now 70 yrs old &still have God as my personal director. Without him I cannot accomplish anything. Praise him every moment I am awake. "Just trust and obey." That's how I don't follow. I don't wanna believe in something just because someone tells me to. Not everyone is as gullible as Christians. I'm not going to change my lifestyle and force myself to believe in some contradictory religion because someone else has some "experience with god" (or maybe a voice in their head?). I have gone to many religious camps and done a lot to do with Christians, because of my girlfriend. I have asked "God" to show himself and prove to me that he is real, and it's never happened. And I'm not an Atheist, because I don't know what believe. I'm Agnostic and believe that there could be a god, but Christianity is definitely not the answer. And if you question why Christianity isn't the answer, then you obviously haven't analyzed your religion and questioned it enough.. Or you're just another gullible person hoping that there's more to life.

I wouldn't lump all Christians together, because some people do just believe whatever is taught to then blindly, but other people do really wrestle through things and try to understand as much as they can. For me personally, I used to feel a lot like you did, I used to ask God for an experience, and felt like he didn't care about me because I didn't have this transcendent experience right away. I did eventually have what I believe was an encounter with God, but that happened after I spent a good amount of time praying, reading the bible, and actually looking for God in my life. To some people, God shows up in a huge mind blowing way, but every person's walk is different. But even rhough all of us have different stories, how we as Christians know God is real is because He satisfies in a way that nothing else has ever been able to. I used to seek for meaning in my looks, abilities, grades, and was plagued by self hatred, insecurity, jealousy, all that stuff, but God changed all that. We believe in God because not only has he revealed himself in all creation, but he makes a tangible and real difference when everything else fails. Peace :)

heartwideopen357 Ya it true what you say i just wanted to add because i when i was about nineteen or twenty i went through a pretty dry period in my life felt like i didnt feel God and i was doubting big time, but i still kept praying and doing research in the bible and research by historians and things like that, and it only strengthen my faith. so i though logicaly i believe that Jesus is true and that his words are true. So i came to the belief that he is the messiah. and i would have times where i would feel close to God and but i would still feel like something is missing, anyways i had a chance to go to France with some Christians from my University to go to this christian festival, and it was really cheap so i thought ill go it will be a good way to see france ( i wasnt even focusing on the whole christian festival) but when i got there i felt so close to God like ive never had before and i kept getting a word from God that said if you keep my commands i will establish you ,and i am making a covenant with you, and while i was in the midst of about two thousand christians singing at the praise concert there, one of singers said to the crowd ask God of anything, I asked at that moment for God's holy spirit and right after i made that prayer, the speaker said they will have a time were people can give their lives to Jesus and they will pray for the Holy spirit to come down on them, and i knew this is what God brought me all the way to France for. At that time i fellt so much love from God and i could see that he doesnt condem us at all. At every moment he just wants to bring us closer to him. To make a long story short, there are plenty of times where we feel God is close or we feel alone but God taught me that he is not just a feeling and that he is always there, but also to expect with God amazing things and amazing moments

Or the point of the book in the bible. I know people who are always doing this test thing with God. They say if you are there prove it. Do you think thats how long lasting relationships work. When you first met your girlfriend did you say to her, prove to me now that you love me, or i just wont go any further with you. didnt you try to first get to know her, which shows effort and that you want the relationship. Dont get me wrong God always wants the relationship with you but we got to want it as well and to seek and thats were Jesus said you will find.

All i could think of was my son who was a dealer, user, addicted since he was 18 & seeing him so thin, eyes black, come home after being beat up 4 years ago wondering what i could do. i had been praying for him & in 2008 the Lord told me he was going to be alright. i did not see this until 3 years ago when he moved to Florida & through a conversation with his uncle he ended up in rehab. He has been clean and sober, got married in November, & ministers & sponsors those in the detox center when he lives in Ocala. God is so Good!! God bless you and keep living for the Lord. I've watched this video so many times. I see it for the first time when I was 16, and it really moved me. And I've watched it so many times since. I used to be so stuck, and struggling with so many different habits and issues and wanting to kill myself all the time. But now I am 22 years old and God has completely gotten ahold of me and changed my heart and given me a LOVE for Him. Now I have hope in my life and i dont live in fear like I used to. God is so good. Once I started really seeking Him and being willing to let go of my sin, God gave me nee life.

I have been dead inside since I was 5 years old. I was abused by my stepfather every night from the age of 5 until I was 14. I was also abused by family friends. I do believe in God but I don't know how to let him into my heart. I have tried to kill myself 5 times now and I should have been dead twice but I'm still here. I don't know what God's purpose is for me but I hope I find out before I try ending my life again. I have been in deep depression for years and I don't know how to get out of it. I wish I could feel that love in my heart like you felt. Truthfully though, I never had that kind of love my whole life so how would I even know what that feels like. People tell me that I am the most kind person they ever met, I have compassion for others, I also forgive those that have hurt me but I can't find love or compassion for myself. I guess you can say I put others before me. I never learned how to love myself. No one in my life has given me that kind of love where I could understand enough to give it to myself. How does one learn how to love when they don't even understand it themselves. I pray to the lord for guidance but I feel he doesn't listen to my cries.

If He didn't, He wouldn't have died the brutal death on a cross and then rise again so that you could live a new life in Him. Look up Dan Mohlers KZbin videos. Ryan Ries story speaks to me I know how it is to be an addict I have never taken drugs but I drank a lot of alcohol beers whiskey and I fist got drunk on Smirnoff ice and beer. But I was never satisfied with just alcohol, I listened to heavy metal music and a lot of rap music, I started watching porn and that was my drug of choice but it became a habit the more I look at it the more I was consumed by it. I started to isolated myself from my family and friends. I would go in my room and stayed in there for hours on end watching porn and then I also started stealing from stores things like CD's and headphones and mp3 player until one day. I got caught while I was walking out of the store. One of the security tags was got attached to my bag and I thought awe crap this was it I'm going to jail and getting kicked out of school. But by the grace of God I didn't get into trouble because the store employee's saw the CD in my bag and they thought I must have borrowed it from a friend. They let me go and I was just wondering why they did they let me go they couldn't have let me go and call The cops on me. But God wanted to get my attention that you need to wake up. But I refused to listen to him and so I kept on doing whatever I want to do. Until I was getting so close to the end that I was going to kill myself because nothing filled up the pain I was going through. Because I lost my mother at 15 year's old. And nothing filled me up from the hurt and anger I had towards God taking my mom away from me , I started to get resentful with God. Until my senior year of high school I was going to my youth group at my church. The pastor's parents where world wide evangelist and it's was second time I have heard them speak. But I could feel this presents telling me go but I hesitated going because I enjoy doing whatever I want. But I know that I was not happy with myself and the things I was doing I was not proud of. So I went up to the altor and I prayed for the first time in my life and I felt a fatherly embrace come over me and I know that it was God and I ask his son Jesus Christ into my heart and soul I wept like a baby and I felt an embrace so awesome and wonderful tell me I love you my beautiful son and I brought my one and only son Jesus Christ to die for you and your sinful nature

Just wondering if we need to hear more testimonies of God’s covenant faithfulness to his people through the promises of Acts 2:38-39 to the children of faithful Christians.

#HouseOfDavid: The Remnant It's kinda crazy to me the everyday words that so many in the modern church use in ignorance of the meaning...as though the words they speak are words drawn from the sphere of trendiness in the spirit of the air of the religion to which they cling, all the while, ignorant of the incredible gravity of the power which is attached to said word...there are so many words spoken in ignorance as I remember that it is a lack of knowledge of the meat of the way in Yeshua that leads so many of God's people down the road to death and destruction...and one word which sticks out fierce to me is the word remnant which so often gets thrown around in ignorance...with umpteens of millions of people proclaiming belief in God by the name Jesus/Yeshua, of them so many proclaim in speech to be remnant but is a remnant that exactly if so many who proclaim it are actually of it? If all who proclaim to be of the remnant actually were the remnant, it wouldn't be a remnant at all as so many would make up an abundance and the lingering remaining few who would define a remnant would instead change the definition to a majority...this is a period of time in prophecy which is called to have a great falling away from the true faith in God so if there is called to be an abundance of those deceived and in removal from God, does it make sense that a majority would claim the title remnant and have integrity in tact to such a claim? Or is it possible that when there are only said to be 144,000 people who stand in the great tribulation to bring the true gospel of Christ to those dying of thirst in times of great travail, that 99 percent of those claiming the title of remnant are in fact deceived and speaking words in complete ignorance of where they believe themselves to be in an authority which hasn't been handed down by God, but claimed by self which is no authority at all? And if said proclaimed authority as remnant is false authority then what of those who are actually of the remnant who dont boast on title but work in silence as God brings them to and through the roll of true remnant to fulfill what is written of them while the boasters just talk rather than do? I find that those who speak the most have the least to say while those who have the most to say sit in silent revelry and fear of the Most High God in Jesus name, in eager anticipation for God to reveal His true sons and daughters to the world while the talkers talk and the doers do in Yeshua's mighty name I declare...I call upon the God of abraham isaac and Jacob to bare witness to the words I speak that account may be had in Jesus/Yeshua's mighty name...Jesus/Yeshua is without a doubt God, come in flesh...(Tst5)
