I'm Jamaican and I love Patoranking's music! I love the fact that he gravitates to our culture and embrace it enough to add a little bit of our flavour to his music. Big Ups to all African, we are all one no matter if we're not from the continent. Jamaican or Nigerian we are all the same people. Just remember that. Keep doing your thing Patoranking. Respect and One Love!!!

Actually,I listen to bob Marley a whole lot. I think he was more African than me,born and raised !. He talked about facts,that even affect our Africa till today. He is a legend in Africa. He has bob malarkey day,well celebrated in Africa. So,when I see this guy patoranking,I feel him.funny thing, today is my first time clicking on any of his songs,and I have watched 10, he makes a lot of sense, he touches the soul,he brings another vibe to a one sided Nigerian rythme.he changed the game, he has to learn the Jamaican accent before he could bounce out and sing in it. Big ups to him and big ups to you too.fellow African !.

+Orwell Maylor my brother I don't get this people separating us... our vernacular is also so alike....on my first visit to Africa in ' 94 at age 5 from Italy to Benin City in Nigeria I grew up listening to classic dancehall music like Shabba, Diana, Shaggy that my uncle use to play every morning...etc... at the time I thought that those were African songs, and obviously, my parents gave birth to me and grew me on Bob Marley...Living in Italy before then never exposed me too much about black/african culture except from my parents and a movie about Jamaican bobslead team called "Cool Runnings''that I watched religiously for years ,that they used to show every now and then on the italian tv stations.....Long story short until the early 2000 i never knew that Jamaica was an Isle VERY FAR from Africa, I always thought that it was In Africa.I Know I must have been ignorant for more than a decade of my life but...Patois have so many words and expressions that derived from African various pidgins, moreover Rihanna is Bajan, she reps Jamaica must of the time and nobody complains ...cause for SOME ignorant Africans think that all black carribeans are Jamaicans. CHILD> PICKNEY=PICKIN BIG EYE=stingy TO BE> DEY=DEH ONLY>SOSO=e.g. 'soso wahala' YOU PEOPLE> UNA=UNU TO BE ABLE>FIT=HAFFI 'e.g. daddy haffi work,work,work...' there are so many...Is important we claim ours.. Why only learning french and german... when we also have our, to take back.

John Kennedy Ekene Yeah Mon Bob Marley was passionate about uniting all Africans and getting people of African descent to remember their roots. Patorankin on the other hand is doing a very good job mixing the Jamaican accent and culture into his music. The first song I heard from him was Alubarika and it immediately caught my attention and I just had to put it on repeat until everyone in my house started singing along to it. I hope he continue to put out more masterpiece. Bless Up and One Love.
@orwellmaylor8 жыл бұрын
Stefania Omo You made several great points and I have to say you are definitely right. Imagine what the music industry would be like if we stop separating ourselves and started uniting more. Maybe not just only the music industry but life in general would be better for Africans and the diaspora if we united and work together. Its not up until two years ago when I started going to a black university in America that had a lot of Jamaican and African students that I realised that my language is similar to Pidgin, and it was easy to pick out some of the things they saying when they were talking. I even started greeting them saying "How far" every time I see them because the language sounded so natural. I can see why some people will mistake Jamaica for an African country, which isn't a bad thing if they do because that's our roots. I think they should definitely change the type of history they teach us in the school system because all they teach us is white history and when when stole us from Africa and brought us to the Caribbean. They need to go way back before that and teach us how life was in Africa before the Europeans came and interrupted our history.

My forever best song is ...Africa unite.by bob Marley . What he sang decades ago is exactly what our problem is in 2016. This guy sings in Jamaican accent, and Jamaicans are pure Africans. Bring a Jamaican to France and bring somebody from Ghana,nigeria etc to the same place.if they stand close to eachother, you will think they are brothers. It is because they have same facial similarities and same posture !. Look at Jamaican girls and look at Kenyans and Nigerians, etc, these girls have same body type,same skin complexion,same faces and same body movements. It shows you how much we are one !. Yet ,we go around tying to see why/how we are different,trying to argue about stuffs we should know about. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery ... Bob market ! Big ups to you and big ups to the king,bob Marley !.

That's the problem with us Africans. Here's a great artist bringing us good vibes. Instead of encouraging her and pushing her, we're worried about her singing in her other languages and stuff. It doesn't matter what language she sings in as long as she brings out good music. Stay united instead of ripping each other good Lord!

For those of you who are saying he is trying to be Jamaican, you should go do your research first about Africa n reggae music. Some of u might be old enough to know lucky dube, one of the best reggae artist Africa has ever had. If u don't know him look him up. Saying he shouldn't do reggae because he sounds Jamaican is like me telling a Jamaican u shouldn't have dreads because it started in Africa! Lol please I beg'o enjoy the music n shut up! +Nyima Fatajo Raggae music and Jamaican accent are two different things. I love Patoranking, but he is obviously trying to speak like a Jamaican. I am not mad on him because of that..but that is the reality. From what you say then, nobody should say white people are trying to be black...cuz we were all black at one point. Music is universal and if he feels like singing reggae is his own right. Nobody has to put him in a box and tell him what he should do or should not do. He is a free man!
