Angry Anderson did the best King Herod I’ve seen across two Australian productions and the original movies etc. In the program Angry was quoted as saying “It’s only one song a night but wow, what a song!”

Thanks Paul and Fellipe 😊 I could see you really enjoyed and appreciated this production of JCS. It is incredible. The passion and emotion every cast member brought to it was outstanding 👏 ❤❤ John really gave so much respect to playing the role of Jesus. That voice just oozes emotion in such a special way 😍 Catch you in the next video. Keep up the great work supporting John 👍 😊❤❤

The best thing about this whole reaction (other than the wonderful performers) was watching Fellipe's face. We could see exactly what you were feeling throughout the whole thing. Paul was a lot more composed but I could see you enjoyed it for what it was.

Thanks Paul and Fellipe for reacting. I think the time went quick because you were so involved in watching the show. Not only was the singing top notch, but the music was way beyond great. Debbie, I can't wait for the next episode in this series. Great job...thankyou.❤❤

Thanks guys. This is fantastic! Tears again !! I think it actually touches many people who are questioning their beliefs. It was written for only the last week up to the crucifixion. 💗❤️💖 The Life of Brian was blasphemous !!! John flinched to every lash sound and every nail hit. ❤️❤️❤️ Love our Aussie performers ❤️❤️❤️

The 'short guy' is played by Angry Anderson - his nickname came from, as far as I remember; there was a bit of a fight outside a pub and Angry jumped on the back of one guy; "Like an angry ant" as one of the onlookers commented.... He was the lead singer of Rose Tattoo - an Aussie heavy metal band. Judas is Jon Stevens, lead singer of Noiseworks; another great Aussie band.

If you look up to where the cross was at the end it was empty with a light above it.Also after the blackness which did happen when he died. The music got brighter and the lights came on brightly which I take as representing the resurrection. ❤️ That last song by Judas I see as being Judas's last chance because his face at the end showed he realised he cant forgive himself and he knew he could not stay here. ❤️💖💗

Guess what I watched again! ❤ I'm feeling a bit, no a lot emotional 😭 Paul, you said they didnt show the ear getting cut off and the 39 lashes, but He did tell them to put their swords away. I really start getting emotional from the kiss on. They wanted families to be able to come as well. I think this cast is phenomenal and they have so much love and respect for each other ❤😂🎉

I’ve just watched Finding the Voice for the 3rd time and I have a question that’s been bugging me. John’s parents came to Australia when John was around 10. When I heard them speak on the doco, they had probably been in the country for about 8 years and yet they both had aussie accents. Any pom that I’ve heard speak still has their accent after many years of living here. Were they both Australian and perhaps went to England for work reasons? Even John, after only about 8 years of living here, had no trace of an accent. I need answers to this conundrum👀
@carolynh88664 ай бұрын
Definately a conundrum that needs an answer. In truth I'm pretty sure they were all born and bred in the UK. But it is interesting that there accents were very similar to my 5th generation Aussie grandparents. ( Who I always thought sounded very English sounding always enunciating words properly ) When John was younger he did have a more "proper " sounding way of speaking which became more "Aussie-fied" as he got older.
@AussieDebb4 ай бұрын
@@carolynh8866 Children seem to change accents a lot quicker. I was overseas for 4 months in 1975 and when I came back my friends couldn't understand me LOL!! As for John's parents - being so friendly, and wanting to fit in, maybe they tried to change their accents. John definitely sounded more "pom" when he was younger. He has always had gorgeous articulation when performing. Even his speaking voice has a lovely tone. I heard someone say once, he even speaks in tune 🥰

John’s parents were most definitely born and bred in England. London is made up of about 32 burroughs or districts. When we think of London we often think of the Cockney accent. However the East London accent is quite distinct from Cockney, it is much milder and resembles very much the cultivated Australian accent (eg Cate Blanchett). If you look up any interview with David Beckham, you’ll hear the East London accent. This is the accent John’s parents had. Hope this helps! ❤😊

Jesus Chirst Superstar is one of my favorite musicals of all time, and if I'm being honest I didn't like this version at all. They are all... just standing there? They don't interact with each other, there are no props but also no mimic of what it's supposed to be happening, they just perform the songs and stand. Feels more like a concert than the actual musical. (Also I don't understand the choice of clothes, and I've seen a lot of versions, I like that the clothes can be not accurate to the times, I just genuinely don't understand what is everybody wearing). Kind of sucks because the performances are amazing, I don't know any of these people but every single one of them did an excellent job on the songs, they guys who play Annas and Caiaphas have very different and extreme voice ranges which is not easy to find and they were amazing, Judas is my favorite character and the guy who plays him was perfect for the songs, I wish we had seen more of the acting part. Obviously it has a lot to do with the recording, but Judas is supposed to be present and reacting to a lot of songs and here it seems he disappears after the first songs and then he immediately betrays him to the priests, there's no indication of why would he get to that point. And obviously the guy playing Jesus, which is a role extremely vocally demanding is just doing the songs effortlessly, like it was easy for him. Which is why it kind of annoys me that there's no much acting, because it feels like wasted talent. Obviously this is just my opinion, I'm not an expert in musical theater, I'm just a huge fan of the show and I've seen several versions of it so I'm comparing it to them (1973, 2000, 2013 and 2018). Maybe if you guys have some free time on your own you could see some other versions so you can understand what I mean that was lacking from this.
