I had originally posted this comment on another video of this song, but that video was removed or something, so I'll just repost it here :) "Bernadette" makes me think that there's a man who is really sad; probably depressed. Nothing is helping, and he's on edge now. But he gets the idea that maybe a lover (Or someone similar) will help him - so he creates Bernadette. She isn't real, he just thinks she is. She's a figment of his imagination, a hallucination, if you will. He slowly decends into insanity, until he does nothing but give all his attention to her. What do you think happened to him? :) I don't actually think that that's what "Bernadette" is about, but if you really listen to the lyrics, it makes sense and it's really awesome :D

So this song, in my point of view, sounds a lot like a strange serenade from a yandere/stalker that's trying to explain his "love" (victim) what he thinks of them, the world that surrounds them, what he feels, his twisted thoughts, etc, in a way that he believes is reassuring for them so they want to stay and understand the life that he pictures for them. Sorry for the long post but DAMN this is a good concept and I just couldn't help it.

In fact if i may...The song starts out with these lines; "You and me in our playhouse," they ran away together and are sort of just pretending like they're responsible adults so this definitely works. "Living in a veil, never need to go without," also fits because one of them (the victim in the situation) comes from an extremely high class and wealthy family so he's very privileged and has no idea how the real world is. "memories bring no joy or peace" the abuser always tells them things like "I'm better now" , "i apologized" and "it's in the past" then obviously "we are alone, and all we need." i could go into the entire song and why almost every line makes me think of them but i wont. Just wanted to randomly share this though
