SUGA PRODUCED THIS BTW also.. a good reaction to watch is Ddaeng Explaination by a korean by DKDKTV. Ddaeng (pronounced just like dang in english) is usually referred to as the “dang” sound an xylophone makes on korean game shows. hosts will make a ding and dang sound depending on if you get something right/correct (ding on the xylophone) or wrong (dang). so the title literally means wrong/incorrect. when they say “hip hop? ddaeng, rap style? ddaeng” and “bangtan (bts)? ddaeng” they’re making fun of bigger company’s like SM, JYP, and YG for not thinking bts would become successful bc they came from a small company. there have also been numerous haters that don’t consider bts’s rapline actual rappers. there’s like 20 different versions of the word ddaeng in this song and they use amazing wordplay, so i suggest you just watch the video explaining it all 😂

The word Ddaeng has so many meaning that is why it is just left untranslated in the title cause they use it in more than 7 different ways in the song. Also the wordplays and cultural references are lost in simple translations. DKDKTV channels give good explanation on the references used since it will hard for international fans to understand the song with typical subtitles ; you will really appreciate-trust me it will make so much more sense, ; they also have other bts videos in the series and those are informative and enjoyable as well. So if you still interested you can do a reaction that would be great.

I love this fan made video! I am so happy you reacted to it. So many of us are excited and grateful there is a BTS as well. Once again I appreciate your comprehension skills, you always grasp the overall meaning without having every detail explained to you. Some will say the song is complex but honestly that's just a matter of opinion like everything else. My personal opinion is that if you understood the cyphers then you understand Ddaeng. There are videos that explain things but depending on the type of person you are that may actually spoil the magic because they are never done by the BTS members, they are all fan made. So it's up to you whether to watch them or not. I realize you're in the reaction business here so your videos aren't always going to be about what you want to personally watch.
