Love a good story behind a company. Never ceases to amaze me how much work goes into it all.

I bought a V+1 from Vielo last November and all I can say is they are as helpful as they say , in fact more so. Mine was sized to fit me by Ian and Jen’s accounting for some joint mobility issues then custom’d to my needs with a 10-50 cassette and 50mm tyres with traditional stem for easy adjustment in the future. They are all they say and having recently completed the 100 mile in a day milestone so is the bike itself, I could not recommend Vielo more, if you want a bike that does British roads in comfort with speed look no further.

What a great interview. Pure honesty. It’s like listening in to a couple of friends just shooting the breeze. Thank you so much for this post. Loved it.

Thanks Simon and Ian, emphasising all round exercise where possible. And looking at tyre width for comfort, no speed required for my trips out!

That was a really interesting conversation (and great interview!). That comment about really great marketing companies that sell bikes seemed very apt! 🙂

My friend still has his dave yates 853 custom mountain bike, built up now as a psuedo flat bar gravel bike, he has other bikes, but the dave yates just holds a special place. I have an old raleigh RSP ti mountain bike, still used and much loved Both these frames are knocking on for 30 years, still used and much loved ❤

What an interesting guy, 70 years old and still active and running his own business. This confirms my belief that retirement as we do it in the UK, indeed most of the Western world, is just the wrong way to go. It's an outdated concept and is a shortcut to the end IMHO. Stay active, stay interested!

Good history lesson for me. Various people disagree but the gravel/adventure/touring bike is changing my thinking especially wrt mountain and road tradition. Made me think of the bike classification video you created Simon.

Great film & even greater story. I have to agree there is far too much 'bullsh1t baffles brains' on KZbin re bikes & bike tech. Completely unnecessary. i bought a mason bokeh, one of the things i liked (like vieloi guess) is changes are only made for changes sake and real product development. One of the beauties of small companies and their boutiques.

A cheap made-to-measure Reynolds 525 frame will ride better than a one-size $5000 carbon one.
