I saw this young Dude "Ian Noe" when he was about "16-17yrs old at the "MTN ARTS Center" in P'burg, Ky. Several yrs back. He has a mixture of Bob Dylan, John Prine & a little bit of "DAC/ David Allan Coe" & quite Alot of FOLK in his songs & singing. But, with a style "All his Own"! He opened for "DAC" who was or was Supposed to have been the "Main Attraction"? I did say that he was Supposed to have been? Ian Noe had basically had just started "Singing & Touring. You could tell he was pretty Nervous "I Know i've been there"! But, Ian was AWWSOME. I spoke to Alot of ppl after the concert & 9 out of 10 thought he was also. But, when DAC came on stage. He was SOO DRUNK & just Totally Plastered. He didn't know what his name was? He'd sing 2-3 lines of a song & could NOT remember the words to his songs? Then, if that wasn't Bad enough? His wife comes on stage to with him. She could NOT carry a Tune in a bucket "Just being Honest"! Any & Every singer has had this to happen to them many times. It just happens. Ask Any singer Where the Mic stand will Slowly slide down. When her Mic stand slid down. She Threw a PURE Tantrum like she was 4-5 yrs old "Literally"! Needless to say: They Both were BOOED off stage. I Was a Big "DAC" Fan until that happened. She took the Mic & stand & Threw it across the stage. She was not a bad looking woman? But, the way she acted & started throwing stuff. They Both were "ESCORTED OFF STAGE" while "Cursing every breath"!! I think it even Embarrassed "Ian Noe" also!! They should've taken a Belt or what my Granny use to call a "PISS ELM" switch to' both of them & Absolutely WHUUPED the Piss out of them!! But, i Seriously EVER Doubt IF they will EVERRR get "ReBooked at the MAC EVERR Again....EEVERRRRRR? "IAN NOE" YESSS!! But, DAC & his wife? That would be REALLY BIGG ]NOOOOO WAYY"!! On a Scale of 1-10. 1 being the Worst & 10 the Best. I'd HAVE to Rate DAC & his wife a "1" & that's being Very generous!! And as for "IAN NOE". I'd Have to give him an "8+" & that would be Very Conservative number!! I'm Just being Honest!!

As someone who liked the song a lot from the moment I first heard it, I'm kind of sobered by the lyrics. Although the melody is beautiful and, from an artistic point of view, his choice of words is very elaborate, the content devalues people suffering from an addiction. I waited till the last line, hoping for some critical distancing which didn't happen.
