MSM isn't journalism any more. Just easily scared reporters who say or write what they are told. They check nothing for truth, fact or fitness anymore. If I ever again hear the 'far right' label applied to ordinary people for saying simply they - & many more of us - don't like the woke policies being allowed to undermine our white western countries, I shall NEVER MORE look at or listen to TV or radio 'news', much less read any such rag. That rubbish isn't news worthy of any proper journalist. It is just parroting political propaganda on behalf of people we elect & pay to govern in our best interests. Worse still, people we don't elect & pay because they are serving other masters. Either way such people are not worthy of our trust: their mouthpieces do not deserve ANY time or attention.

As a former Londoner ( born &raised into a large family of 8 Kids,and Parents from Waterville,Kerry) It was a tough upbringing with two people unsuited& My ol Man was not fond of the UK and it's locals ( He said they treated the Irish badly when they arrived) And my mom,who was struggling to raise a family & keep their Belly's fed Anyway many Moons have passed& I have lived in the US ( for 24 yrs& I am a Naturalised US Citizen) And one of my Sisters lived in Israel for 10 yrs & her Daughter was born there She speaks about 5 or 6 Languages 3 written& Spoken fluently ( And needless to say they',re very Pro Israeli & and so am I unapologetically) So when I finally started using Unsocial Media ( about 7 yrs ago) I've been staggered with the Anti American,Anti Israeli,/Jewish and Anti British sentiment,ignorance, rudeness,bloody mindedness,and just overly PC BS view of the world,so I certainly recognize many of the observations Ian made,he was right on the the money! On so many Irish pages ( the topic might be about food,Sport f##king anything) and they'll mention Trump,Right Wing etc & the thing is they usually have no idea or have any decent understanding of the Politics of the US ( it's very f##king complicated for those that live here) But it's one thing being ignorant,and rude, another thing to be so proud it . And the sad thing is considering I was raised to like & appreciate all things Irish,what I see on Unsocial Media I really struggle to identify with( Both the people &their Politics)

I think that it is incredible how the British and Irish societies have never moved on from the Victorian era. Before the First World War, the Working-Class were the under-class, a people who knew their place and tipped their hat to the Upper-Class, but post WWI with the rise of the Unions and their political wing the Labour Party, gradually gained equal rights through fighting for their place at the table. The adoption of Universal Suffrage post WWI made everybody equal in political terms, if not societal terms, but the Working-Class always were treated with distain by the Upper-Class, and the British love their status and snobbery, and after Blair ordained that 50% of young people should go to university, this reached epidemic proportions. The new graduates saw themselves as the new Elite, way superior to those awful Working-Class workers, who were nationalists, racists, were stupid and had dirty hands, and this snobbery reached epidemic proportions after the Brexit vote, when the Elite voiced their opinion that anyone who had not been to university should not be allowed to vote! This we have turned full circle, where the Working-Class are now being shoved back in their place, emasculated and ignored, and expected to tip their hat to the Elite - the Labour Party and the police - and to know their place, just like the Victorian era. I fully expect Kier Stalin to restrict working people's ability to vote, in order to stop the march of Reform. The big difference now though, is that in the Victorian era, the police were Working-Class, whereas today they are drawn from the Elite, a people who despise working people, and treat them accordingly.

In many ways the elites of today are worse than the elites of the 19th and early 20th centuries. At least they never pretended to be on the side of the working classes and at least they understood the need for a nation state and a national culture even though they knew it ran against some of their interests. So many of the elites today (who many incidentally also consider themselves left wing) have it in their heads that for a few extra quid a week the working class will happily let go of any ideas of nationhood and social and cultural conservatism.

Victorian Britain was a far more mobile society than most others. Industrialisation and compulsory education created prosperity and a whole new monied middle-class who owed nothing to the land-owning gentry. The elites are now breeding the White Working Class out of existence. Once the Whites are gone the rest will be next. The elites tasted their brave new world when they had the excuse to lock everyone indoors during covid-19. They saw with their own eyes a world unpopulated, a world where they can begin again, a world populated by only the elites offspring. A brave new world.

As an Irish (Northern) Catholic, I don't get this constant blaming of the Catholic church. Ireland was far more comfortable in itself and its identity when Catholicism was relevant, the streets were safer and we had a moral code (though, like anywhere, many broke that code). What were we supposed to aspire to, if we were to ditch Catholicism? American consumerism, widespread abortion, liberal guilt, liberal hatred of history and the working classes, degenerate pop culture, drugs and pornography? Sex, drugs and rock and roll (the distraction of modern man so that he can be controlled and subjugated). By the way, never in over 60 years of Catholicism, did I hear an anti-Jewish diatribe. It didn't really exist. In fact Vatican 2 went out of its way to be conciliatory to Judaism. And as regards to Women, many women were among the most pious in the Church, and the Church still gets flak from many Protestants for the importance of Mary within the Church The real rebellion against the Church was that a growing number of people did not want a prominent voice that was in opposition to their hedonistic lifestyles. Overall the main movement of the Globalist woke movement is to kill all purpose in Western people, particularly in three things, Christianity, the nuclear family and finally, local community and National ties. They do this by deliberately dividing and demoralising the populations. Catholicism is anathema to the Woke. Although like every other institution and religion it has come under severe pressure to become more liberal and woke. But it still contains too many things that drive the most extreme woke character to apoplexy. So, it is too twee to say of Ireland that Catholicism was a tyranny followed by the Woke tyranny with the Woke semi religious aspects. It was never Catholic tyranny, as the Church wasn't the Government. Its just a too simplistic narrative. Rather it was perhaps better described as a battle between competing moral systems, Christianity and Liberal Consumerism. The Church has been proved right as we now see the chaos produced by a materialistic liberalism that has no boundaries and which is killing the West. The Church was terrible during the child abuse scandals. But there were many good people and clergy who were thereafter treated like dirt due to the abusers and government and celebrity propaganda. Remember that the new Irish secular regime has now killed over 36,000 Irish Children, and raised glasses and cheered in celebration of the abortion referendum - yet they would portray themselves as the enlightened ones, and rural, Catholic, nationalist Ireland as the great backward people. So while I agree with much of Ian's analysis, I think he's wrong about Catholicism, or at least as portraying it as some terrible tyranny dictating people everyday life. I do agree that the Bishops and hierarchy are very weak and craven, but there are still many good priests and lay Catholics about to carry on the fight.

"If you dare to question these articles of faith, you're a heretic..." O'Doherty is spot-on. While many, even a majority, of Irish people have genuine concerns about 'The State Of Our Nation', to voice even the most moderate concerns (on social media, for example) lead to accusations of racism, 'Far Right' and xenophobia. An wider example being that the expression of any kind of understanding of the impossibly complex situation in Israel in the wake of Oct.6th and indeed continuing attacks by Hamas/Hezbollah leads one to be branded as an Islamophobe or worse. (This opprobrium often coming from people who at the time or in hindsight fully supported the PIRA 'Armed Struggle'. Put more simply, Allied bombing of civilians in Dresden, Hamburg, Berlin is a war crime, PIRA bombing of civilians in London, Birmingham, Manchester is not...) These views are not open to question, debate or discussion. Indeed expressing such views will and does lead to censure. (So most people simply don't bother. Question the narrative at your peril.) Ian touches upon another aspect to the current 'mind set'. It is this. For decades, The Catholic Church had an unfathomable (now) 'ultra conservative' voice in the politics in Ireland and that is happily no longer the case. One need not explain why. However, the intelligent, humane and progressive views that vastly limited forever the political and social policies of the Catholic church have now, as we'd say in Ireland, 'run with the ball'... The pendulum has swung. It is indeed, ironically, now 'heresy' to question ANY progressive 'articles of faith' handed down to us by secular government or political party? (Again, to give examples, unvetted Mass Immigration is good, trans women are real women, 'Irish people no longer have a say in who lives in their communities...' - a quote from Green Party TD/MP/Minister Roderick O'Gorman.) Funny to think that those secular 'anti-Catholics' who once, (I believe absolutely correctly) campaigned to have Catholic doctrine removed from mainstream politics now march in favour of those who advocate for 'Sharia law'??? It is my 'lived experience' (a phrase that might well cause O'Doherty to snort into his pint of Guinness?) that most Irish people share Ian's concerns to a greater or lesser degree. (But it's problematical to openly voice such concerns...) So most do not. We've silenced ourselves, indeed. Ian O'Doherty is not silent. xx SF

@noelpucarua2843 Ай бұрын
If you've silenced yourself (you say, "We've silenced ourselves") it is your fault. No one else's. Try not to blame anyone for the silence, and all the other things, you are actually writing about. How do you know that anyone's, or everyone's, concerns are genuine? And, even if they are genuine, how do you know they are not just whingers ? You claim to have knowledge of people's motives. Shalom Viv, It must be difficult. Hope that the Folk of Judea manage to get through this severe time of crisis as somehow you have managed in the past. Some times old adventure comedies like Flash Gordon, the A Team, The Fall Guy, the Persuaders, Phil Silvers show, Cannonball Run can raise the spirits and help one see the days of trials and tribulations and regard them as a challenge, another chance to dance with another outrageous chapter in this farcical comedy that is life. A lot of themes in Hollywood themes in film and TV in the 20th century were from American Jewish scriptwriters, producers and directors. So thank you. Me and my wife liked Tony Curtis in the 1970s show the Persuaders, a wacky and glamourous series which him and Roger Moore were always fighting crime together as 70s millionairo playboys and scrapping and playing tricks on each other and trying to compete with each other for women.
