Been a Deep Purple fan since my twelfth year in 1976 when I heard Machine Head for the first time. Been a rock and metal guitar player ever since thanks to them. Have friends who are jazz musicians and know NOTHING of rock music. Had my jazz drummer friend hanging out at my place once some years back with Purple spinning on the record player in the background. In the middle of conversation he stops talking, listens for a few seconds and then exclaims: " Wait a minute. I know this, it´s that Deep Puple guy,- Ian Paice,- I can hear it´s him from the techniques he using,-monster drummer! " ´Nuff said! Chief rules!

Its crazy how much influence the band members had from jazz as well as other genres. They came together to create something completely unique from anything else, and now many have tried to copy it for the last 50 years

My first concert ever was seeing Deep Purple in the Now What tour, I was only 12 at the time and it absolutely blew me away! Next thing I did the week after was go into a store and buy that album (deluxe version; CD and DVD because I had birthday money I hadn't used yet haha) and so it holds a very dear spot in my heart. Out of Hand is definitely a stand out track and was always one of my favourites- it's really a dream come true to be able to see it in the making. This channel is an absolute blessing.

@Stevo Reno absolutely! Am jealous- though, the band is great to see live at any phase of their career

Seen them 10 times now, first in 1993, last on the first of October 2022, and they always deliver! There’s no debate here, they are the best hard rock band ever!! Sadly, Steve had to go, but they found another great guy in Simon. The day I go, the church will be filled with Purple music😂 They’ve been the solid soundtrack to my life!! I salute you!

Personnaly as a live guy , its much more easier confortable and performant to me to record like this than over a fucking backing track . Its what is supposed to be Others " in the trend " nowadays find hard to play or record in that way . Or non normal but its them who re fucked up haha
@SecondhandWatermelon4 жыл бұрын
@@Nissardpertugiu Totally agree, at the very least, you have to get the guitar bass drums and keyboard in the same take to have the main part of the song established

No words to say..just that this band started my singing courier.Smoke on the water,I first heard in 1973 but never realised who that band was till I was introduced to Made in Europe and then I spent all my savings ...I never looked back and Deep Purple never let me down.Thank you for all the years and the arguments I still have over you!!!!

First three tracks of "Now Wha"t are the strongest tracks I think, and yet no one as far as I know have been played live. That's a shame really "Out Of Hand" would be massive live!

I was smiling when the camera focussed to my favourite guitarist. Just like the village boy playing guitar on the wall of the roadside. Hehe ! So relaxed with his sworned guitar. In my place that guitar cost RM 17,000 ( 5 to 6 K USD )

Wow - just had this suggested to me out of the blue - and I am so glad!! I am also a drummer (61 years young now), and I grew up with Deep Purple as one of my faves... and of course with Mr. Paice as one of my many mentor drummers --- I had no idea D.P. was still around making music in any capacity... How awesome! I would LOVE to see some old school footage of some of the classics being recorded - if you ever filmed any of that era!... Great to see you still rocking Ian!

Hello Ian, I met you a few years ago when you came on the Today Show in NYC to play Smoke on the Water. I mentioned that I listened to The Mule from Made in Japan album. I just wanted to say that as a fellow drummer (of 50 years), you are one of my favorites and that you couldn't have been nicer, (especially at 6:00am!) as was the rest of the band. I love your new channel here on You Tube.

Thank you so much for this video. I can't believe I didn't know this song, but as a keyboard/synth and organ player, I'm looking forward to learning the keys part. I'm playing the keys part on Throw My Bones, which I absolutely love -- both the song and the keys part. This video is awesome, as is the precision ending. The song sounds like great hard rock combined with some pseudo classical. The hook/riff is amazing. Thank you!
