1970 I listen to DP in Rock first time. 1976 I married my first wife and listen to DP. 1977 my first daughter was born and I listen to DP. 1980 I lost my wife and listen to DP. 1983 I married my second wife and listen to DP. 1987 I get a Heart attack and listen to DP. 1989 my second Daughter was born and I listen to DP. 1992 my third daughter was born and I listen to DP. 2007 my first daugter marries and I listen to DP. 2017 I'm retiring and listen to DP. 2018 my second daughter marries and I listen to DP. 2020 I'm still alive and happy. And I listen to DP. Now you can imagine what DP meens to me.........They are one of the greatest part of my live. And they still Rock me.

I absolutely love this song! I played it last night for my 11 & 12 year old children (separately) without telling them who sang it. They were totally into it! Both of them! I couldn't believe it. I was such a proud mama. And you should have seen the looks on their faces when I told them it was Deep Purple. 🤯🤯 They were kinda betrayed and kinda impressed. I didn't tell them who it was because I knew they would be predisposed to dislike the song simply because I like it. Kids... 😉😂 But, they couldn't deny that they were grooving super hard. LOL! It was such a beautiful thing to see. 💜🥰💜🥰💜🥰💜🥰

@MI 6 Well, the original lineup of the band consists In addition to Jon, Ritchie and Paicey: Rod Evans and Nick Simper. The Mk II lineup (Blackmore / Gillan /Glover /Lord /Paice) that we all thought was the original lineup, was formed in 1969. After the original lineup of 68' was split up.

I worked with Steve Morse back in the 1980's. Not only is he an amazing guitarist, he is a hell of a nice guy. During a Dregs tour, we were loading out in the rain. Steve and the band helped load gear. That was back when Mount St Helen's was about to become a volcano.

Poor Don Airey... When will he ever get to play with a decent guitarist?! The guy has been forced to pay the rent playing with guys like Blackmore, Iommi, Rhoads, Gillis (Brad), Lee (Jake E.) and now this Morse character. Damn... Life is cruel.

You can't compare someone like Tony Iommy to a guy like Steve Morse. You may not like him, bis his skills are way beyond Iommy's. He was the perfect guitarist for Sabbath. But technically Morse is a totally different league.

Caramba: Personally I rate Rhoads and Morse the absolute finest of that bunch of very talented men. Randy died too young. We'll never know what he was truly capable of. Steve Morse... Well, he's beyond 'good'. I think he's incredible and I'm a huge admirer of his. Saw Purple in 1998. Wow... I'll just say I wasn't missing Richie that night.

@@lespauldisciple3349 Agree. Blackmore is one of a kind. Live he was sometimes a bit sloppy but I still now when I heard "DP in Rock" for the first time. Songs like Speed King and Child in Time blew me away because at that time I had never heard this kind of energy from a guitarist. In the context of the time his Child in Time solo is still outstanding to me. If you compare Steve More's Dixie Dregs era with his playing with Purple I think it's amazing how he merged into the group. I'm not following Deep Purple any more but here on YT watch DP live concerts once in a while and I think the Steve Morse finds always a pretty good balance between "quoting" Ritchie Blackmore and adding his own stuff into the solos of the classic songs.

Hello Ian, love the new songs! DP still is one of my all time favorites! I do have a question, will Deep Purple ever play Nashville again? I had tickets to the September 30, 2019 show that was canceled. I was at the Ryman show in 2015. I'd love to see you all again. I also think it's great these last 3 albums have been recorded here...
