I am a drummer and drumming instructor. In my opinion, Ian Paice plays with such an appealing swing and bounce. Like Bonham, he was initially inspired by the jazz and swing drummers and then applied it to his hard rock playing. He plays with such a clean, crisp precision. His single and double stroke rolls are such a joy for me to hear! Even someone who knows absolutely nothing about Deep Purple has to hear and sense his remarkable technique. Anyway, like the sun, water, air, soil, and minerals, Ian's drumming is a "natural resource!"

He made Deep Purple...... there were singers, guitarists, bassists and keyboards in all the other bands,- but Ian Paice was the only drummer, who took jazz, swing and blues to the rock scene of that area..... Ian was taking Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich to rock....... and everyone else is just following him. Ian Paice is my hero......

Deep Purple was my first ever concert at Eagles Auditorium in Seattle WA back in the 60s during the Hush, Kentucky Woman days. Got to see the original band and a very lean no shirt and a big huge Afro Ian Paice on a beautiful silver sparkle set. You're right. He was great back then and even better now.

Ian Paice has always been my favorite drummer since I was old enough to listen to music. I have had the honor of meeting him on three occasions, he is the coolest, nicest, down to earth guy you could ever meet. Little Ian is the man.

I tend to agree on that, my theory is that as the world was made for right handed people mostly, the left handed must develop a great rigth hand control on everything(doors, cars,etc) since the very begginning, so having a great balance between both.

between lord, glover, paice, blackmore, gillan I wouldn't change anybody, specially paice.. I'm realizing now that DP existed also in other "mark" and did work pretty well but.. always with Him.. luky us :) good and very polite man, extremely humble but.. nuclear powerwd. with only tre pieces of drum he can easily kill. Love Paice like no other drummers. matter of taste..

Greatest living rock drummer. Also one thing to emulate his parts but think back to the thought process of Burn who else would have come up with such a unique drum part? I also really like the mini solo in Space Truckin’. There is a geezer on YT who performs a very good cover of it mini solo and all.

Absolutely.. Everyone freaks out so much when they see Neil Pert surrounded by his kit and dont get me wrong Neil is a legend and no one can say otherwise.. Ian Paice is a god on the drums 💯💯💯 he can do what Neil does on his huge extravagant kit but on a nice little well thought out Pearl kit and make it sound better...

Ian is one of the best drummers of all time. Unlike Neil Peart whose drum kit is 15 times larger than Ian’s and sound 15 times worse. Because Neil Peart is simply no good
