I have just watched parts one and two. I am a Catholic and a constitutional Nationalist. I think he was courageous, and the consequent years have proved his and all who are taking part in the power sharing to have been the right course of action, averting death and blood shed aswell as cementing political solutions only to resolve any further issues arising in the six counties.

You know i think in his earlier day's Ian Paisley preached so much hatred against his Catholics neighbours and he prodded loyalists ( not that they needed it mind you ) , and ordinary unionists to attack and drive Catholics out of their homes and him being a Protestant minister just made it seem that much worse and hypocritical . He may even have indirectly caused the deaths of Catholics with the hatred and bigotry that spewed from his mouth back then to drive loyalists in particular to act on that hatred against Catholics . However , towards the final years of his life i have to say ( like Mc Guinness ) , that Paisley along with Mc Guinness tried very hard to get Northern Ireland out of 1690 and into the 20th century . So, with both the Reverend Paisley and Mc Guinness working together in my opinion they changed and done their best to bring peace to Northern Ireland and i respect them both for that and i don't care what others say they tried very hard

Paisley was, if nothing else, completely honest. For most of his life, he made no bones to hide his bigotry and contempt for certain people, and flirted with violence both directly and indirectly. While no angel even at the end of his life, he seemed to be far less entrenched and was more open to a conciliatory approach. Some say that he was on a PR exercise to save himself and his party; I think it's more likely that he realised he was closer to meeting his maker, and that he would have to answer for the vitriol and hatred he espoused. Either way, Paisley's change of heart means this land is in a far better position then it may have been otherwise

have just finished watching the two vids... can only laugh at the hypocrisy of the man when he says that the ira must wear sack cloth and ashes for their part in the troubles , and even says that the murders committed by the unionists should not be brushed under the carpet........ so how can he be so blinded as to not see the role his vicious and unforgiving tongue played in the troubles. why does he not see his inflammatory speeches as being responsible for anything ? any reactions to his speeches that caused trouble were always the fault of those carrying out the trouble and not the hateful words he spewed out. that would probably be hitlers response to the Reichstag being bombed or jews being murdered or buildings set alight ...this man was not nice , and what goes around comes around...its no wonder all who knew him fell out with him .

As an American I agree with Ian Paisley's take on Catholicism. Roman Catholicism is the most disgusting cult on earth. They Blasphem the very Creator while claiming to worship said creator. The Catholics don't even realize that they are going to hell. Ian Paisley cared about Catholics enough to tell them the Trueth. I agree that marriage to a catholic is a dumb idea unless the Lord Jesus Christ draws the Catholic spouse out of that church and she stops being Catholic. If someone marrys a Catholic but puts no effort into witnesseing to the Catholic spouse about the apostatacy of the Catholic church will be in hot water.
