Because of poor eyesight I have been listening to audio books from different venues for about 40 years. This narration was the finest I have ever heard. The book was good. It is what I expected for a novel of it's kind but the reading was the finest kind. I will be looking for more narrations by Mr. Keeble now that I am aware of him. Thank you all very much.

Amazing performance of a riveting story. I can imagine this narrator striding he stage in a theatre holding an audience spellbound as he reads to them! Personally I’d prefer the ambiance of him sitting in an armchair in front of the fire. But I’m just ungrateful and difficult to please.

Yes, Martin Jarvis is also an excellent narrator. It's an unfortunate fact that even the most exquisite writing may be spoiled if listening to a particularly constipated or particularly garrulous narrator. I guess it's necessary to be "picky" in choosing what to actually read oneself and what to listen to.
