Been a long time. I forgot how fantastic this song is. Noel wrote it, very cool of him to let Ian sing it. But it all works SO WELL. I remember seeing him in this and thinking “he looks like the sort of guys that walk round our estate in greater Manchester, what makes him so special?” And then I got it, THAT is what makes him so special. Ian Brown is 100% himself, he’s relatable and he’s incredibly talented. Ian Brown's solo career has been amazing, even with all the Roses baggage he's made some brilliant albums. Britsva I loved 'Stone Roses', played it death, still play it now but since its release I've regularly played 'Golden Greats'. It still blows me away now and at the time it was a whole new sound for Ian. 'Music Of The Spheres' is pretty amazing as well and 'The World Is Yours' is a damn good album. It's not like he's unknown but I think he doesn't get the props he deserves and a lot of that's to do with the shadow of the Roses. I honestly prefer him as a solo artist.
@thirdeyeblind63697 жыл бұрын
I think a lot of that has to do with the UK music press, They need to let go of the Stone Roses baggage I reckon. Anytime they mention him it's always "Former stone roses front man Ian Brown" ect. But we all know who he is so why keep shoveling his past on his shoulders. I would get it if he had done sweet FA since Stone Roses and they needed an anchor point for the young'uns reading that maybe didn't experience his music. But that's not the case. Never mind the fact he most likely has the strongest following of any artist I've seen and seems to me people genuinely love his music and him! I definitely prefer him solo, King Monkey has helped me get through some rough times.

Couldn't agree with you more. Unearthed an Ian Brown CD from 2004 a few weeks ago and this fantastic song was on it. 🎉

At 50 years of age, here in 2020, this makes me feel 18 years old all over again. I'm a product of the 80's and this song could have been released in 1984, it's timeless as all great tracks are. Love love love the gritty video, a signature of Ian Brown.

This is like when Chuck Berry took the stage with John Lennon. The master and the apprentice. Fantastic.

A great song! Ian Brown's voice is absolutely unique. Then if he teams with Noel Gallagher, the result can only be the nirvana. God bless you Ian and keep it up.

U gotta love the point in this vid where these two meet and hug each other on the corner it’s like mutual respect is just justified ( rightly so aswell) they made the early 90 ,s for me they just produced great sounds
