This fast became one of my favorite songs of all time... They say that when words hold a spiritual truth that you'll feel chills upon hearing it, and I believe the same is true for music. Something awakens in my blood when I listen to this. I immediately feel a powerful updraft of positivity that is akin to running up to the edge of a grassy seaside cliff, stopping to gaze to the horizon with hope and determination. I can feel the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, and the passion, power, and breath of life itself. Thank you for every masterpiece you create, and this one is epic as hell. ❤The world is more beautiful and alive because of your music.

I've been excited to listen to this one since the preview. I can't express how well this fits some of my books. On one hand, this reminds me of a specific kingdom, that used to be roving warrior clans, and on the other hand, it reminds me of some of my dragon riders, rider racing through the forest, dragon above, readying the leap from a cliff to land in the saddle, readying to fly. And those vocals at the end are beautiful! This is exactly the song I needed today! Thank you for such continual great music!

@Alasdair374482 жыл бұрын
I love your music but I cant help but wonder why you went with the label "Celtic" is that because that just the most common search term or is there a particular style you most closely try to emulate because the word "Celtic" is such a loaded term as Tolkien once said “Celtic 'is a magic bag, into which anything may be put, and out of which almost anything may come . . . Anything is possible in the fabulous Celtic twilight, which is not so much a twilight of the gods as of the reason.” So I guess my question is this what does Celtic mean to you?
@IanFontova2 жыл бұрын
I know the word Celtic is not usually used in an accurate historic way. I think nowadays it's mostly used to describe a music genre that includes sooo many different things, and to describe a certain aesthetic. I'm okey with the modern meaning of Celtic, I like the music that people usually call Celtic on the internet (whether it's historically accurate or not), and that's what I have in mind when I think about it and when I compose :) So I guess I'm just picking the modern re-defined meaning of the word because I like what people turned it into!
@Alasdair374482 жыл бұрын
@@IanFontova So a general style that we modern people recognize as Celtic. So sort of a mixed bag of generally Celtic themes with a modern touch. To me "Celtic" refers to the native cultures of the Atlantic zone in western Europe and this is still a living culture so I'm happy to see artists like you bring new ideas to keep the culture going. I just wish people understood this better and had a stronger idea of what this means if you ask people whether or not Scandinavian culture is real no one would doubt it but Celtic some people think its just fantasy entirely made up.
@IanFontova2 жыл бұрын
@@Alasdair37448 I had a bit of an identity crisis with this some years ago 🤣 Some of my ancestors are Galician and I did a trip there wanting to know more about that part of my roots and the culture around. I was partly moved by my love for "Celtic music" (or what most people now understands as Celtic music ). Once there I had very interesting conversations with a historian (half cousin of mine) that was specialized in Galician history, and he explained to me that the way the word Celtic is used now in Galicia, and the fact that Galicia is included within the so called "Celtic Nations" is mostly a marketing strategy. That yes, there are certain traits that you could link between these cultures but it's all quite speculative, some of these cultures share some traits between them (as well as with other cultures not considered Celtic), some other traits are not shared... Bagpipes for example are found in so many cultures other than the celtic ones, and trying to link them into one same kind of music tradition was not very historically accurate. I was kind of hoping to find some really cool musical past that linked these cultures and probably there's no such thing, it's all just modern re-interpretation. So from then, I decided that I'd not care that much about the historic accuracy and just go with the modern conception as I like the imaginery and mood that it evokes. I think it has worked to create some really cool music and community and that's enough for me :) A more historically correct meaning of the word should coexist too and not be erased, but I think each part can have its place 🍀 Correct me if I got anything wrong, though!
@Alasdair374482 жыл бұрын
@@IanFontova I would agree if ideas are chained to the past they become stagnant and die. but I think its important that we recognize that these ideas immerged from real cultures that exist into the present.
