I watched your FreeCAD models in blender and was really impressed with what blender could do, so I was even more keen to see what could be done with animation and physics'. This didn't disappoint! Thanks for a gentle introduction that can be used as a spring board for getting started!

You are welcome. I think the potential is huge. Please share when you create some great physics simulations

A guy on the FreeCAD forum told me about animating my FreeCAD assemblies with Blender. I have always been overwhelmed by the thought of learning Blender. Your video has encouraged me greatly and will give it a go. Thank👍

I'm really loving the freecad blender combo, nothing better than two really powerful open source apps + someone showing you how to use them... I really appreciate the little bits of info here and there like 'this key to do this' .... man, makes things so much easier as learning shortcut keys from the beginning is such good practice. Cheers!

@@Adventuresincreation I have a question for you please. In FreeCAD assembly 2 workbench we can assemble parts together with constraints such as faces, axis, points etc. My question is can you do this sort of precision assembly in Blender? If you can I reckon it would be a great subject for a video. 😉

A pity this video did not get more views (and likes). A opens so many possibilities. I was looking for "real" animations and was a little disappointed by the limitations in Freecad. I certainly give Blender a try.

I was hoping for that too. There are great possibilities in combining the two applications but, people didn't want to see that. I might do some more just because I enjoy working in both.

Jet a other nice video for people how are starting blender. Seen a video from someone how was making a simple marble track and simulation in freecad. Wonder if it will be easier with physics in blender. Think I found a new project. 🙄 keep up the good work.

Hello. I would like to animate the step by step building of a structure. I have done the structure in freecad. There are no moving parts. Now can i animate in freecad or should i use blender?
@Adventuresincreation Жыл бұрын
Ita depends on the animation you want. Blender is a rich animation environment.

I came up with .0254 when importing stl to scale.

Makes sense 25.4mm = 1"

I like this video . I am building a project I freecad with over 80 parts . That I want to assemble there will be only about 35 that I want to move . They will be connected . Is this possible in blender ?

Absolutely possible in blender

I am glad, I was expecting the Blender & FreeCAD stuff to be way more popular but it seems it received a tepid response. I really like taking a model created in FreeCAD and importing it into Blender for use. TBH, I am better at modeling in FreeCAD than I am in Blender. I use Blender a lot, mostly for video editing.
