Ianos is a microbrand I connect with on multiple levels. They specialize in dive watches (as of now) with innovative strap channels. Their designs also take inspiration from, and pay homage to (not to be confused with homage watches), Greek divers. Hey Steve, I know this is a long shot but I’m leaving no stone unturned. The Ianos Mihanikos watch you have a year ago is my holy grail. I cannot find it anywhere. My family is from the little island of Kalymnos and many of my relatives were sponge divers. Really i cannot describe how much this watch means to me. Thanks for subscribing! I need to make a full review on this but man does time fly! My microbrand is called BASE Timepieces with our prototype being the FD.1. Sadly we weren't able to fund initially but we're back to the drawing board!

geia ! the word scaphandre was used the first time in 1775 by Jean Baptiste de La Chapelle from the words skaphos (kind of boat?) and andras. so french origin with greek etymology that's fun, we can say 50/50 :) salut apti Gallia

I agree to an extent. You really need to like the design and brand itself to justify the price.

The dimensions are not very good. The avyssos is even worse,bigger.they should make watches for average wrists.the design is great and the specs are more above average. Dont care about the price,its way too big for my 6.5 wrist. I had no idea they existed and im seriously into microbrands. 😮

A watch can't please everyone and this is definitely made for a person who enjoys bigger tool watches. Ianos does need to balance it's collection for smaller wristed folks so hopefully we see that in the future.
