Guilty as charged Ian! I think the secret is to slow down your photography, I’ve just returned from a trip to North west Australia and I was rushed into so many mistakes by you guessed it the Mrs.😂

Forgive me, I can't remember which video it was... but you've solved a year long lament with focus issues! AF-S has given me back consistent focus. I have a clear shot of a bumblebee scratching its head! Thank you so much! ❤

Always very interesting to see your photos and to listen to your most instructive and humble comments. Do not change your formula, it is most inspiring.

I think I have been guilty of all of those habits at some time. I have found taking the time to slow down has helped me a lot, especially with composition.

One problem I always have is balancing the needs of family with my need to go by out and shoot….. photography takes time and sometimes its the one thing I really need…. good tips Ian.

Getting out there in time is something I'm struggling with right now. I keep forgetting when you're in hilly country, the sun may go away long before actual sunset.
@ian_worth Жыл бұрын
So true, those hills make such a difference to the actual sunrise and sunset times 👍👍

great video, thank you. I just saw you are not using a ballhead on your tripod. Since I need a new one I was wondering if I should get a new Ballhead or the system you are using?

Always find your videos helpful, something I did a few years ago that really helped me in that started using Google Earth to scout. It does actually help. Most places are on the Google map now and you can actually have a look at them in three-dimensional before I go there to see whether it's going to work for me. Did you get a shot of the steps going down to the beach? That would've been a really nice composition as you were walking. I was thinking of a swirling sort of pathway down to the beach would've been really cool sorry to take over. I often see compositions where I am walking, and I see a composition, but I keep walking because I've got a composition in my mind so recently I started to change my mindset that everything is a composition opportunity and don't go to a location with a preconceived thought, because you might get there and the lights not right or it's just not gonna work so now I go to a site and look at the site as an open book and how do I fill that open book? Your videos always inspire me and it's great that you also don't shout LOL

Thanks buddy, much appreciated, yeah those steps looked really cool, i didn't consider them at the time but thought the same when i was editing the video. Might look even better at high tide 👍👍

Advice most welcome. I notice that you don't seem to use a Len's hood? I've noticed this in many other photographers too. Is there a reason?
