I have the iPad with a pencil 2, but I'm seriously considering buying the crayon. I only use it for drawing, and even with the pencil I set up the software to not ignore the pressure. Sometimes I'll be going back and forth writing on 2 iPads, and it's a real pain keeping track of which pencil is paired with which iPad. It sounds like the crayon would work beautifully for that.

True, might be a mean one-two combo to have crayon for those cross-device projects while the pencil can excel at drawing specifically

Well the Cryon doesnt need to be paired via BT because it doesnt use tap-controls or pressure-readings of the tip. Thats the only reason btw the Apple Pencil needs to be paired. The iPads have a very tiny mesh integrated in their displays, similiar to that of a keyboard. The pencil has tiny coils built into it and the mesh in the displays picks up the field those coils produce. That why you can also interchange the pencil between other ipads with no problem. The only reason why the Apple Pencil wont do that is because if you unpair it or move too far away from the tablet its paired to, it shuts off the coils to preserve power.

that’s definitely weird! i had connection issues with mine once, i took the tip off, blew into it, and then it was fine. maybe its dust? i have a bad habit of playing with the tip

If you use CAD … You should test it first cause most of the 2nd sources do not have the BT functionality… which is important to use CAT programs like Shapr 3D

These devices work best for budget on the 2018 iPad Pro which is what I recommend if you do not already have an iPad, it has 120hz pro motion and an A12X which is definitely adequate for digital media production even after 4 years

The crayon dosent have to be paired… not even once, it simply works with all compatible devices. No Bluetooth

Nope. Since it's aluminum it has no effect by any magnets inside of the iPad

you forgot really critical point.... if ipad pro/air is your first apple device EVER - logitech crayon have a HUGE dissadvantage. And its apple proprietary cable. You need always thinking of having one extra wire for that pencil in your bag. And it costs money.

There are better and cheaper options for just taking notes. Without pressure sensitivity, the Crayon is just not worth the price.
