Iasos - A dear friend whose talent shines above & beyond that which is usually considered 'teachable'. In this video, he conveys keys, not just to musicians, but to any creative being, the art and science of bringing creativity through one's being with the greatest positive impact possible. Iasos, you are a rare gift. Keep shining!! Love, PM

Thank you! I keep coming back to this lecture. This is one of the most valuable pieces of learning material to be found anywhere. I am getting ready to record a new album (after I finish painting my studio room and setting up the equipment) where I am putting my intention into the music to do a couple of things; 1) to help the listener to connect more clearly to their higher self and 2) to be an activator for sleeping starseeds in need of awakening. This is my mission, the reason I'm still here after 40 some-odd years of bumbling around. The timing has worked out the way it was supposed to. I have spent the past few years unknowingly integrating the mission parameters piece by piece into my waking conscious. It's clicking into place. Your tips, which hit the nail on the head, are invaluable to me.

I work on psytrance w/ my bandmate, but ambient/relaxing has always come naturally to me and been my favorite thing to experiment with. I think I like it because there's no real definitions of what you can or can't do with it, and in a sense it's a freedom. I really enjoyed your video and learned some very interesting perspectives from you, thanks.

Glad you enjoyed it Ben! I too love musical freedom! In fact, I totally IGNORE the assumptions of what "earth music" SHOULD be. Love, Iasos

Always coming back to this. Thank you so much for sharing these tips, they are so very appreciated. I feel like I've learned more from this video than I have throughout my whole music education. Finally someone who comes to the point of what sound and music is and what it can do. Thank you so much for helping me remember, Iasos.

You lost some credibility with me when you lied about owning and using a "Roland hardware Vocoder". I know you lied. I can't, nor have any interest in, "proving" it. But I know, and you know I know. Why lie? Why not say played some software Vocoders and desire a hardware one? etc .... I'm disappointed in you. I too have lied. I forgive you.
@IasosVideos4 жыл бұрын
Hello David! I actually DO have the PHYSICAL Roland vocoder: Roland SVC-350. My first vocoder. I still LOVE it, even though it only has 11 bands. If you email me at iasos@iasos.com and request a photo of me holding my vocoder, I'd be happy to email you back such a photo. If you visit me in Marin County, you can actually see and even TOUCH my vocoder! I used it extensively on "Helios & Vesta" on my "ELIXIR" album, which was released in 1983. I don't think they even had software vocoders then. Mystery to me: WHY would you think that I was lying about this? WHAT MOTIVATION would I even have to lie about this? Just wondering. Much LOVE to you David! Iasos
@brianhoneycutt59382 жыл бұрын
@@IasosVideos dang if I had known you were in Marin and were so open to people I might've been very tempted to reach out. As I lived in bay for 10 years and listened to your music at various points then (I still do). Angels of Comfort in particular was helpful for me to find..well, comfort haha. I am a musician myself and love the opening advice you gave. I think it can be very easy to be unconsciously motivated to want to make others happy or compensate for a woubded sense of self by wanting to achieve external 'success'. But doing it with heart, live, joy, and what feels right I think makes a huge difference. Thanks for the vid and great music! Also, very cool you played at Esalen. It's a beautiful place and your music there seems fairly paradaisical. All the best to you!
