Thanks for the help. I'm in IB 1 and in 3 months doing my history exam. On paper 2 is it all right to cover subject material that I used in paper 1, as you mention something about them not giving credit for mentioning the same subject material? Great video though

hey! obviously, in paper 2 it would be near impossible to cover topics like ww1, ww2, and/or the cold war without at least mentioning germany, italy, and/or japan. the rule of thumb, though, is to avoid talking about their *expansion* in paper 2, since this will be the focus of paper 1. their role in the world wars and the cold war are totally fair game for the other two papers (specifically paper 2 since paper 3 will focus on the americas). it's also important to note that if your case study isn't "the move to global war", then the countries/topics you should aim to avoid will be different. double dipping, writing about the same topic in the same way multiple times, isn't always a bad thing, but in ib a good rule of thumb is to try and avoid it. if your topics are different then the ones i'll be covering here, it's a good idea to ask your history teacher or ib coordinator. if they are, i'll be making videos on the cold war, the two case studies (japan and germany/italy), and likely ww1 & 2. hope this helps!!
