I've seen in other IBAISAIC vids that Roger uses uncommon plastic polishes to shine and protect but in case its of any use - you can get paint scuffs off the main shiny body of a Miele with isopropyl alcohol. I then use all purpose furniture polish thats suitable for plastics. HTH. I would like to see how Roger does it too.

Thanks for sharing this. It's an interesting looking machine and they've definitely addressed some issues with the blizzard like the post filter being easily accessible. I still just can't help but that feel that it's just inferior to their bagged models and yet they have such a high cost. For the price they really should have a multi cyclonic system reducing the need to clean the pre motor filter.

Couldn't agree more. I hate bagless. I gave them a whirl with the Blizzard and the Triflex, useless when emptying, and I have severe allergies. If they could revolutionise the way the empty so that no dust is open to the air, they will get my vacuum business again. Thought maybe this would be the one. But nope. And made in China, forget it. Even the Triflex filters and battery are made in Germany. Hard pass on this one. I'm sure it's for the brainwashed Dyson crowd.

This is the best sounding extremely high rpm suction motor I ever heard. Similar rpms to the tiny shark motor but, a lot more pleasant. Miele will probably implement the same motor as the Boost CX1 in their next generation C1 vacuum.

It's not Foxconn or some other party producing the vacuum cleaner in China, it's Miele's own factory. Keep in mind this is basically some plastic with an engine, and thus fairly easy to produce. Regarding the vacuum itself, it looks alright, but not amazing.
@deurkl
@deurkl 2 жыл бұрын
Also interestingly, a lot of German companies try to hide the fact they produce in China. Many times they don't even put the "made in" thingy on their products, instead they put the company's main office address on it. They always try to pretend it's produced in Germany, I think they're a bit afraid of lost business.

I hope it truly is a sealed system. The sealed system engineering in this appears to be a little more well designed than in the Blizzard. It also like how there is a black mesh filter with the premotor filter, and how the hepa exhaust filter is replaceable. I’m sure all the filters in it are replaceable, though, which is a plus. This wasn’t the case with the Blizzard. It’s coming to the US in a few months. I’m going to buy one if I can get it with a power nozzle.

Love the redesign of the Boost CX1 compared to the Blizzard CX1. Made in China to either cut down on labor costs or because of availability of parts/components already produced in China? If Miele kept their manufacturing in Europe I would be fine with that…it doesn’t have to be in Germany. Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, etc. would be fine European nations to manufacture the Boost CX1. The amount of plastic used in the Boost CX1 tells me that aluminium is either too expensive or just hard to source from supply chain issues right now but it looks like high grade sturdy plastic. Overall a good first impression on Miele’s second generation bagless vacuum cleaner.

Thanks for the review! Why do Miele insist on using this type of filtration? A disappointment. It will probably have the same problem as my Blizzard which cuts off several times mid cleaning. I then have to clean the filter cartridge using the auto-clean or manually. Lots of their vacuum models are made in China nowdays. I have in my collection a Miele C1 and a C2, both made in CN. The quality seems ok though.

Miele? China? Oh dear me! This also just looks unnecessarily fussy and complicated for a Miele - I suspect they're seeing sales decline because they sell a range that's pretty much unchanged for a decade so now they're following the fashion with the Tri-Flex and now this - they both look overpriced and fiddly. I'll stick with my S7 and C3 that are both ancient but as good as the day they were bought.

Well, its certainly more compact than the Blizzard, but looks more like a Dyson Big Ball canister. One area it is an improvement on the Blizzard is that you can change the exhaust filter, as on the Blizzard the exhaust HEPA filter is lifetime, built in and non user serviceable without dismantling the whole machine. It uses the same single cyclone separation method as most Shark vacuums and relies on the pleated pre-motor filter, much like the Blizzard does, but the Blizzard has a self clean motor on the pre-motor filter that the Boost does not, so its swings and roundabouts really between the two machines. The main deal breaker meaning I would not touch one of these with a forty foot bargepole is the words "Made in CN" - ie, made in China. At least all the other Mieles and all of them that I own are made in Germany. Sorry Miele, bad move, and it will cost you sales. I guess the only German brand now loyal to Germany is SEBO, but I cant imagine them moving production off to China any time soon.

Even though the UK left the EU, we still have EU laws and regulations in place and will continue to do so. They have actually been making certain things in China for a while now, and they still are very high quality machines, the only reason manufacturers go to China is because it’s cheap, and if their cheap then they also cute manufacturering costs making the product much worse. Miele spends the same on each machine in China as they do the ones made in Germany cause they wanted to make quality machines (before going bagless) but still that would be a good idea

Moving to China not necessary means that quality will worsen, but manufacturing in China will only make them stronger. And I don’t think that’s a good thing since they hate westerners. @@匿名的-1 that's a short sighted view that only benefits shareholders. Hopeless PRO: - stylish looks (but this is where it all ends) CON: - rather short power cord - disappointing suction - difficult to move on the floor (wood and short bristle carpet) - poor handle design (because of the curved shape, the hand constantly tends to slide forward on the handle) - unreasonably highly priced I must say, this is my second Miele vacuum. I was not over the moon with the first one, but thought would give it another chance. And I regretted it. On a different note: overall bagless vacuums in my opinion are just an impractical trend. First they put HEPA filters in and tell you the exhaust air is cleaner that your room air, then you have to open the canister and empty it in a plastic bag letting the very dust you trying to avoid inhaling, around your face while the dust is migrating from the canister to the bag. What was wrong with the bags that would contain the dust and have a closing valve?

To say that China ONLY makes cheap low quality or genetalize that everything made in China is shit is different. When was last time you went to China (or at all)? Or are you getting your info from the BBC? So you know china is building thorium power plant in the desert, went o the moon several times, built 36000km of high speed train the past 15 years (im not talking about the french TGV which is low speed), clean metro, robots for service, etc. Please get your info right and stop generalizing what the 15 years old stereotype taught you. Im in switzerland we are proud to make the best quality watches, and in the 70s the japanese invented quartz watches, we had to adapt. Is a swatch less precise than a Patek Philippe, surely not. I definitely prefer a Patek, but the fact is cost 1000 times is only up to my taste and means, i would say swatch is cheap imports…

@@ibaisaic and the Nio ET5T will go up to 1200km in 1 charge and can tow you caravan. The bonus is the tow ball/bar is retractable (because when you dont tow anything its very ugly)

I’m basing my opinion on the quality of most Chinese made products based on my actual experience of owning and using them and comparing them with products made in Europe or the UK. I have some high end brands made in China that have stood the test of time, but they are the exception rather than the rule. For example a German made Sebo vacuum cleaner is far, far superior in build quality and reliability than a Chinese manufactured Shark, Vax, Hoover or any of the major vacuum brands available in the UK that are made in China. I’m old enough to remember when you could buy British made appliances, clothes, household products etc and they were better made and built to last more than a year or two before being thrown away. As for getting my information from the BBC, I haven’t watched main stream media for many years. I tend to base my views on my personal experiences and common sense, which is why I avoided the procedure that was being pushed on the world a couple of years ago. My partner makes the car buying decisions in this house and I can guarantee that the next car will be petrol or diesel if we are still towing our heavy British built caravan.

Sounds quite cheaply made. Disappointing as I would like something small, light bagless and capable of dealing with per hair. Hate things that are fiddly as am hypermobile and have difficulty flipping clips etc.

If you hate things that are fiddly, get a bagged vacuum.

nice design, just wish it didn’t have that awful shiny plastic and wish it wasn’t bagless…
