So much fun opening the boxes. Machine looks new! Lovely tasteful home. I always think of lurid wallpaper in British homes and bright colors. Enjoyed this so much as always.

I was amazed the solution pulled through as that's always been the source of problems on my own old machines. We have the all in one vax with separate tanks for the water and solution and progress is wonderful. Your machine looks to have done a good job though. Nice video.

Just bought a 111 and 121 together and that too has its original cream hose,wands and floor tool - the other has a black set but original to it

we had this as kid and lasted way over 10 years, it just stopped working and could of just changed fuse i expect but was time for a newer vax and that one is still in use

It was probably the switch. The force applied to the rocker switch loosens the conduction plates and they eventually come loose.

Oh my Rodger, that sure is a classic Vax. I am surprised at the colour of the hose, as it doesn't really match the rest of the cleaner. I would have thought it would have been black.

I know here in the US these were in the Sears catalog in the early 90s. Except the hose and tools were black. I have seen one at a thrift store before, would have gotten it but just takes up too much room.

Given how easy it is to clean after carpet washing, and its multiple functionality, it was well worth the space. The most likely failure is the rocker switch.

Often vacuum-washers will divert small part of exhaust to create pressure in a solution tank. But I don't see any port for this on this vacuum :/

🙄 - isn’t it quite obvious, the suction at the floor head is drawing the cleaning solution out of the tank down the pipe and into the floor nozzle.

@@samuelfellows6923 it wont work that way, suction draws dirty water through the main hose. The solution tank is sealed from suction part of the motor. So your logic does not apply.

Weird was only thinking about a 101 I used to have it didn’t have the clear part on the solution nozzle bought it a few years ago from a second had shop with the original box and all it’s tools for £15 I think it was and I used it as a garage vac used it for cleaning cars and stuff not realising what it was and one day when using it on the car for a long time it started letting out lots and lots of smoke so i turned it off and it got scrapped really wish I knew what I had then so I could of preserved it but I was only young and thought it was a 121 with a weird cream tool kit found one of the tubes for it a while ago I had a picture on a old insta account I had but I deleted the account I wish I could find it I can’t believe how stupid I was but I was only about 13

To stop the clips from scratching the wand, would a small piece of electrical tape work on the wand to push the clips over?

I seem to remember adding self adhesive felt dots to the metal clips on the original machine I owned to prevent the tubes getting scratched.
