Ibanez J custom has been always my dream guitar. One day I‘ll buy it and rock it 🤟

oh yahhh i can remember how badly I wanted that guitar and believe me, the day I bought it I stopped buying new guitars over and over. If it´s possible for you - buy it soon!

Glad to see your channel is still going. Good video and I love that JCustom. That would be the next guitar i would get.

I really appreciate your videos. Your restringing video gave me a headsup about cutting the strings before inserting them into the trem. God knows what i would have done to this thing trying to figure it out!

I bet you would have found a good solution :) Thanks for your kind words!

Cool Ibanez. I had one, but I sold it because... he is very heavy. Now I bought myself an ESP Horizon E-2. Very satisfied.
@austrianpickingpower7 ай бұрын
totally understand that, the ibanez RG´s are heavy but nothing compared with an original Les Paul
@eugenechek72887 ай бұрын
@@austrianpickingpower I have had many RG guitars, but the J. Custom is the heaviest. Les Paul Standard is only slightly heavier.
@TK967 ай бұрын
I had my J.Custom almost two years and still going strong and feels better to play after putting some miles on it. That rust on the bridge is small I have seen much worse were the bridge was discolored and bridge pickup bobbins were completely rusted on a fairly new J.Custom someone’s sweat was real acid compared to sweat.
@austrianpickingpower7 ай бұрын
oh that sounds fine, I always thought that I´m the only one with that rusty issue but in this case it makes me happy that other people have the same problems. I feel pieceful with it but it keeps me away of buying the most expensive Custom RG´s

bro to be honest man, this chrysocola color is the best j custom color, because it really matches the pearl tree of life inlays : ] because the pearl has the same color in it. At first I wanted royal blue sapphire but im glad I got the chrysocola love it. To be honest man, what I do to my j custom after playing I completely wipe it down after playing, I wipe the back of the neck and the bottom part, I wipe the trem, the tuners after tuning, the pickup coils, after 1 year it looks brand new. to be honest its a hassle, but its worth it. I wish I did that with my jem 7v to be honest, but I still kept it pretty clean, but now I also know to always wipe down the guitars after playing. My next target might be an ibanez pia and now I know how to keep it clean, but that wont be for a long time. cheers! love the channel you have an amazing collection man!
@austrianpickingpower3 ай бұрын
thank you so much for your experience! Since I bought the Jem I vipe the guitars off after playing. The j.custom is my working horse and it became more individual with that unclean pieces but you´re right, always care about your equipment. The Pia is also a lovely guitar - go for it!

@@austrianpickingpower yeah just like steve vais jems, they are so beat up but they became his, sometimes the more beat up the nicer lol.

Beautiful guitar! I wouldn't worry about the wear and discoloration. You're using the guitar for it's intended purpose. Nothing will ever stay looking brand new if you use it. I think your frets would be fine with a level and re-crown.. i don't think you will need new frets any time soon. Cool video!

thank you so much! that makes me happy to hear and you´re absolutely right - this guitar is made for playing!

Thanks for the vid ! Is it a two pices body (centered joint) on this model ?
@austrianpickingpowerАй бұрын
That question is very good! I don´t know exactly but I guess Ibanez usually glues 3 pieces of mahagoni together and the top is a special maple wood. It isn´t a neck through body version. Maybe that helps a bit

Can you tell me what the small door on the back of the guitar does? Id like to make the top pickup active so i wonder if thats a place for a 9v battery but i suspect its for input barrel maintenance.
@austrianpickingpower2 ай бұрын
That´s just for the imput barrel. A 9V block is very big so you have to cut the body somewhere. Maybe Ibanez produces a j.custom with active fishman pickups?
@maxmolina65197 ай бұрын
Looks like a leveling is good enough for it. No need to refret it yet. The hardware discoloration is common with cosmo chrome hardware or black nickel.
@austrianpickingpower7 ай бұрын
Thanks for your opinion, so far it doesn´t affect the sound so I´m fine with it :)

I’m planning to get an Ibanez J Custom RG8570 in the future, but I have no idea what kind of amp would be suitable for a guitar in this price range. A friend of mine suggested that I should invest in a good amp to avoid underutilizing the guitar’s performance. He recommended an amp around the 300-600 EUR range, but he’s not particularly knowledgeable about amps either,so i was wondering if you could give me some advice. I’m thinking of buying a second-hand amp. I prefer rock and metal genres, and I like tones similar to Slash. Ideally, I’d like to find a second-hand amp priced between 300 and 600 EUR (e.g., original price 900-1200 EUR, second-hand for 300-600 EUR). Do you have any recommendations for amps that fit the above criteria? Or feel free to disregard my budget and suggest what kind of amp would best suit this guitar as a reference,thank you.
@austrianpickingpower2 ай бұрын
What a nice question! Well your friend is right - a good amp is always a great investment. Maybe it helps to look for your idols or for good j.custom guitarists and find out which amp they are using. Marco Sfogli or Neli Brosh are great guitarists with RG´s. The first decision you have to make is to choose between a modeler or tube amp. Tube amps like Marshall or Revv or something are not expensive but you´ll only get a few sounds and maybe have to invest a lot of money into pedals. A modeler like the Kemper Profiler Stage or others are more expensive but you´ll get a punch of sounds. I would always go for high end stuff... I hope it helps a bit
