The RG was created with the same body style as the Jem, so that makes sense. IIRC, the Satriani model was based on the Radius (540R), which was what he used to play. Very contoured body, kind of like the Roadstar II's.
@FrancescoCristian5 жыл бұрын
I think the opposite. For some reasons I think that the JS has the most versatile sound than the JEM. Every time I listen to a JEM my mind goes to Steve Vai. The JS has a lot of sounds because of all stuff like HPF or coil splitting ( in the other models) or the Sustainiac. All this features make you have heavy and strato sound (that is impossible to reproduce with the JEM).

Hey Musick, you don't have to replace the bushings all the time! Just use a lighter and heat them up a bit, it makes the plastic expand and they will last a long time without having to switch to new ones.

i was looking at getting the Ibanez GRG121DX-WNF. it just looks exactly how i like. super minimalist look and with the 24 frets i could maybe go into more advanced riffs and songs. as of now im not the best guitarist and tend to stick to chord sequences and simple riffs so i dont know if it would be worth the purchase. It would be my 3rd guitar however one of the main reasons for wanting it is that my current electric is old and starting to have many problems with the pickups and amp connection so it would be a nice replacement.
@theRi0tmak3r7 жыл бұрын
Husker54 the grg121dx is really phenomenal for the price they go for. I'd definitely suggest it.
@jedium95017 жыл бұрын
as someone who owns one I would certainly recommend it, it plays beautiful even compared to a ibanez sz520. I would definitely recommend getting it setup and personally I like thicc strings so I would put 10-52 on it for drop D or D standard. but for sure go and test is and buy it.

Frankly when you said at the start "the differences in pick ups won't be a big deal" that was kind of an eh move, pick ups make a world of difference and I consider them to be THE if not one of many key factors when deciding which guitar to buy. In future videos I recommend having more clarity when discussing the pickups at the start of the video and maybe doing some demos with other standard pickup guitars (eg compare generic stock single-coil pickups to Satch's custom single-coil style pickups). That's just what I thought, either way, great video, LOVING this new channel!! :D

I almost wonder if when he said "It has a broken string so I can't really play it right now" was reference to one of his older videos when he was talking about his telecaster (I think it was) and he said almost the exact same thing...

They both sound good for different reasons. When chording, the JEM is able to articulate every note where the JS gets distorted. But when soloing the JS shows a lot of presence for each individual note. That’s just what my ears are telling me.

Yesterday I ordered the JEM77P from the Guitar Center website. I anxiously waited all day today for the email saying that my guitar was shipped. Instead I got an email at 4:54pm that said my guitar is ready to go. But the only problem is that it's missing a tremelo arm. The person said they'd be willing to dock off 15% off the price if I didn't mind having a Steve Via signature guitar that doesn't have a tremelo arm. I emailed him back at exactly 4:55 saying that no-one ordering a Steve Vai signature guitar is going to be content without a tremelo arm. Plus, why would a brand new instrument be missing something like that? Now it's after business hours and I'm gonna have to wait at least another day despite my paying $28 extra for the two day shipping. I'm sorry I'm using your comment board to vent. I was so excited to get my new guitar and now I have no idea when I'll get it!! Bastards!!

L1gh1ning 223 look man, i got the ibanez js2410 and thats just gr8. Many tonal options, u can sound different than satriani as well. But the feel, the sustain, is incredible, u get much more than wht u pay for. I have seen the jem to be much muffled sounding. For me the js has the best tone. U should try one, but if u like the wizard necks, u can try the jem or any good rg.

What’re you currently using for tones? If you’re not using a modeler yet (Kemper, Axe FX, etc) I’d strongly recommend one. It would make practicing/recording an absolute breeze. Hey Eric. Would you ever consider making a video on different techniques, exercises, or scales to help with being able to play? I know you're a super advanced player, but something like that could help people who are inspired by you to get a guitar or even an experienced guitar player like myself. I started playing when I was 14 and loved it. After a while though I started to flat line with my progress. Now I'm just stuck with knowing a few bits and pieces of this or that song and never thought I would get anywhere with it, but every time I watch you or TheDooo play I get inspired again.
